Step 1 Sole Source + Carb Junkie Going Cold Turkey

I'm resisting going up the steps as I still want to lose a good stone yet and like the high losses that comes with the shakes.....

Yeah so am I! I have 25lbs to go - I want to try and wait til the last 7lb to go up a step! x

I paid £6 for coconut oil in tesco you can get big pots off Amazon has soo many uses, sadly we don't have any Indian/Asian shops so it's expensive for me! :'( apparently it's good for weight loss but I'm not so sure haven't read that much in to it

Buy one get one half price in Holland and Barret at the moment....but they are the HUGE tubs!

Well the sauce failed and curdled. Spoke to my mum and she said marinade the chicken in the yogurt with the spices in it and the next day slowly cook it all together. Lets see how it goes tomorrow!!! xoxo

Shame about the sauce. Mine always seems to curdle even when leaving the chicken in overnight....one day I will get it right! I did manage it once...the very first time I did it...never again since then :-(

I went and got some coconut oil and the necter stuff you guys were talking about. I have tried and tried but I just can't get used to coffee with no sugar/sweetener in it! I think the plan is to try and get to step 3 in a few weeks...exciting!

Do any of you have the meals in minutes cookbook???

Nooo I have the cambridge cookbook my CDC gave me?

The nectar is good in yogurts and stuff I haven't used it in tea. I use sweetner I have never liked sugar haha..

Lets see how it goes tonight.. I'm gonna tandoori cook it so bake it in the oven.

Hopefully it works..

YAY for step 3! Join meeeee haha.. I'm meant to be moving to step 4 today its just a pain paying so much for food!

xoxo

Is the Cambridge Cookbook not "Meals in Minutes"?

The meals in minutes book is really confusing by saying things like "make it a step 3 recipe by adding 50g of mince" when it's a step 3,4,5 meal....soooo....what step is the recipe in? And how do you ADD food to make it suitable for a lower step????

Also feeling VERY HUNGRY right now. I have three hours before it's time for the next shake :-( How is that even possible???? I had my breakfast shake 2.5 hours ago and my tummy is RUMBLING!

(update: made it an hour even though it was very very difficult not to go and get a snack!!!!)

I work for a software company in business development. I am SO tired today I can't focus!

What kind of software?

I'm a developer...currently building eTrading platforms. I have been building reporting tools for the past nearly two years so this week started on the eTrading project and it's refreshing! Lot's of new things to learn. Having gone from basically working on my own for two years ("basically" is because my team lead hasn't done any work for months!) it's intimidating to be working in a bigger team. Worried about breaking something! Only been doing this for 4 years in total and all the projects I have worked on have been non-critical, so to get a task where my change could take out our whole trading system is scary!!!!

Oh wow so we're in the same industry lol.

I work for a SaaS company who specialise in ITSM solutions/automation etc..

Refreshing is ALWAYS good!

Oh god....I hear ITSM and I just think about all the change request processes we have to go through....NIGHTMARE EVERY TIME!

Your company needs to come to us & get something new! LOL!!!

They just got something new....that's the problem!! They have completely set up everything wrong! All the user groups are completely messed up, people don't know how to use it so getting random emails to say I am an implementer for a change and I can click an nice little button to run a script in our PROD env....which is a firable offence but somehow I have the power if I decided to abuse it. Our company like to take an existing product and then customize to such an extent even the providers of the software hardly recognise it.

How is your day going? Off to get a skinny latte which I think I am allowed on step 2 right???

Yeah you find that with a lot of companies they love to complicate everything LOL.. What system did they get?

I don't ever get skinny lattes but you can have it as long as its skimmed milk and you use your milk allowance..

Not toooo sure what to cook tonight but something involving chickpeas..
My blender hates chickpeas and never blends them well and the canned ones always seem too hard to mash with a potato masher..
Any advice? lol

Not sure what the underlying system is...can't seem to find the "powered by" type of things that's usually on the bottom of pages provided by third party software....and the info pages I don't have permission to view (typical)

BBC - Food - Recipes : Chickpea curry
Jamie Oliver | Member Recipes | Quick Chickpea and Spinach Curry (can't find a recipe that doesn't use tomatos)
Moroccan Aubergine & Chickpea Salad Recipe | Yummly (swapping the aubergine for other veggies on your list)
moroccan-style vegetable + chickpea stew » The First Mess (again has tomatos - can't wait until I can have them again!!!)

On the hummus front have you tried adding a spoonful of the liquid from the tin when blending? When you add it bit by bit you should be able to keep trying until it's thin enough to blend properly.
