caws diary

All sounding good Caws. "Use by" dates are supposed to be "end of" but "best before" is a little more at your discretion - can be flexible x

So as I said on Clarri's diary I've decided to apply for the community job. Had a good chat with a friend that qualified with me, she left the hospital after 3 months to go to the community as she just couldn't stand the ward she was on and she said that her worst day now is heaps better than her best day there !! I feel abit disloyal and I feel quite settled BUT it is where I want be be ultimately and they may already have someone earmarked anyway (although there's more than one post going) I won't lose anything by applying, although I won't get my increment in September if I leave which is about £800.

Food wise I've been good, am on day 3 and the only thing I 'shouldn't' have had a a bag of french fries crisps (84 cals) so doing well so far.

I'm loving the sunshine and the days off work (won't have many of those if I go to community !!). Going to a friend's funeral next week which I'm dreading though :(

All sounding positive over here - Go for it if it seems right x

I'm not doing too badly food wise although I'm doing abit of a mishmash of healthy eating/low fat/high protein/calorie counting !! As long as the lb's reduce I'll be happy (will weigh in Wednesday)

Had two tough days at work (14 hour shift yesterday and 10 hour one today - you know when you stay that 5 minutes too much and sudden too many things happen that you can't leave, well that happened !!). Friend's funeral tomorrow, which I'm not looking forward to but I'm off Wednesday whick I'll need to recharge !!

Thanks Clarri, funeral went as well as could be expected but the funniest moment came afterwards when my friend realised that a friend's daughter's boyfriend's stepdad (keep up, keep up !!) was an ex-boyfriend of mine from when I was 19 !! Ex-boyfriend brought him up from when he was 2 (he's now 27). I know my face was an absolute picture and went red as a beetroot when we remembered his name - and the fact that when he got drunk one time he opened my wardrobe door and wee'd in it on my clothes and shoes ! As you can imagine I wasn't very impressed !!! Still gave us a laugh :D

Sounds like a nice guy - just don't let him anywhere near anything you want to keep! x

Doing ok with the healthy eating (even had a Domino's at the weekend and had 4 slices of pizza - previously I'd have had a whole medium one to myself !!). Haven't been able to cut out bread, it's just too convenient in my life !!

Eeks, have got 2 interviews for the community jobs, one next Friday and as I'm on leave there's no difficulty there. The other one is the following Monday when I'm back at work so I haven't worked out what I'll do yet, although our shifts aren't out yet so I've asked to leave at 1pm, even if I have to come back later for a couple of hours. I've heard on the grapevine that a huge pile of applications were received so I won't hold my breath for one of the posts but I'll be disappointed because I've got it in my head now to leave the hospital.

Just poodling through half term with the girls, took them to Thorpe Park on Tuesday, which unfortunately weather wise turned out to be the rainest of days that we could have picked !! Not that the girls minded !! Otherwise I've got 10 days off, woohoo !!

All sounding good in Cathys world.

There may have been lots of applications for the jobs but I am sure they dont interview every applicant so dont be pessimistic. You never know what might happen.

Well done on the healthy eating. Slow and steady wins the race.

Enjoy the rest of your time off.

Pam xxx

Very social week this week, catching up with people I haven't seen for a while so fiid wise will be eating out every day in some capacity - had breakfast today with one of the girls from uni, am going to see my nan tomorrow (who's 95 and Pam's stories of her mum remind me of her !!) so will have lunch out, hair dressers Wednesday, no eating out then, dinner out Thursday and then lunch out Friday and am supposed to be going to my sister's in the evening for football and a takeaway !!

I'm off next Monday so won't have a problem going to the interview. I've heard for the job on Friday they're interviewing for at least 2 days, maybe even more so I'd imagine they'll be seeing anything between 12-24 people :(

New shifts starting next week when I go back, which'll mean a 6am start on some days (and I've got 3 of them in the first fortnight !!) At least I should finish at 2pm though (or even 2.30 or 3pm would be good !!)

Good luck with the interview - well, you passed the first hurdle and got the interview so go sell yourself to them - let them see how good you are x

I had one interview Friday, which seemed to go well but won't find out until Wednesday at the earliest and I've got another interview tomorrow for the same job in a different location and another vacancy has also come up in one of the other areas too (each area recruits their own staff) so I shall apply for that one if neither of these come though. Apparently for the job on Friday they had over 50 applications and are interviewing about 12 people so the ratio is good (they have 4 jobs) it's just whether they felt other people had more experience and will be more suitable (even though I know they won't be ;))

Fingers crossed though, and even though I do like where I am I know I'll be devastated if I don't get offered at least one of them !!

Anyway I've now curtailed my socialising, I'm feeling extrememly lumpy and bumpy so need to get back on it. More fruit and vegetables and no snacking, although I did get some chocolates and turkish delight for my birthday so will be having a treat - in moderation of course ;)
