Step 1 Sole Source + CC's C diary 2013

*Cupcake*

is working hard.....
So I've never done a diary before, and I thought now is as good a time as any to start.

It's day 6, weigh in tomorrow, and I'm doing ok.

This week has been tough, but I've been writing everything down as I drink/ eat? It, and noting feelings too.

So far I have noticed I'm not hungry in the mornings, or evenings particularly. I just *want* to eat. Habit I guess.
I've also noticed that my dd gives me her plate when she has finished out of habit - because I always finish it for her ( as well as my own plate of course!). So now I totally realise one place where I have been overheating. Bless her, she now tells me she has finished and pops her leftovers in the bin. The actual bin, not my mouth ;) !

I'm loving the shakes so far, especially the Mango. Really really nice.

Water intake is about 3500ml a day, plus the liquid from coffee and the shakes so I'm hoping that's enough?

I will update tomorrow!

Xx

Nice one CC. I might try noting things down too... I've started to sit in a different seat in my sitting room. Changing my habits. Not sitting in my usual troughing chair!

Oh that's a good point. Sitting somewhere different is definitely something I will try. Thanks for that :) xx

So I've drunk 3l of water today, and feel like I've spent more time in the loo than anywhere else today!

I've had a porridge (which I liked as it reminded me a little of semolina which I used to have at school, many moons ago!) and a Chicken and Mushroom soup. Chicken breast with a little broccoli for tea, then a minty hot choc - my absolute fav and will be my evening treat from now on.

I've painted my nails, watched Corrie on catch up, and had a nice lazy day.

It's a good day so far!

xx

So I'm off to bed early - as I feel a bit sick! I wonder - can you drink too much water? I've had 3.5l today. It feels a bit sloshy!

Still, I really do not feel like eating so that's a positive! :)

Hi, I have too just started cambridge diet... Im on day 3 so far... I have had head aches and feeling a bit crappy today... It was extra hard as my bf and his lil grl were baking cakes today and she kep offering me sweets all day... it was so tempting but up to now nothing but water and the products have touched my mouth.
But I know exactly were u are coming from with the extra eating..

Up to now every day I have drank up to 3-4 litres of water extra to the products.. I am finding it easy to drink the water up to now but i can understand why others dont. I really hope it gets easier, the temptation is everywere.... aghhhhhhhh :sigh:
My start weight was 17stone exactly, hope i loose weight this week lol ..

well done and keep it up if u need a buddy im here ..

Hi Jenna, sorry to hear you are not feeling so good. But so well done on avoiding the temptation around you! :)

I agree, temptation is EVERYWHERE! My typical rubbish planning involved beginning at half term when the kids were off, and also included a trip to the zoo, and a day out shopping. Grr. Food is absolutely there at every turn. I don't think I've ever really noticed how much!

Still, I managed to make delicious picnics without taking so much as a bite, and sat through a fast food meal whilst sipping only coffee, so I feel like if I can do all that on week 1, and stick 100% to plan, then week 2 can only get easier!

Weigh in later, will report back then :)

Have a good day xx

Well blow me down, I'm still stunned - I've lost 10lbs! In a week!

:talk017:

Im so over the moon, I can't believe I've actually done it! 10% of my target loss gone!

Thrilled xx

I'm celebrating with a Mango shake! :). They are lush!

I must remember this feeling. This is magic. When the hard days come, when the temptation is there, I must remember this.

I'm properly happy happy happy!

It is possible to have too much water, it's called 'water intoxication' if you want to google that, but don't be too alarmed as it's usually when people drink something silly like 8 litres in an hour. If you're drinking 3.5l over the course of a day then that's fine.
I did a bit of research on this and seems the guidelines for safe consumption of water is no more than 1 litre an hour as that's about how fast the kidneys can process it.

Also well done on your first weigh-in :)

Thanks Lucifa - I appreciate it!

Been a long and tiring day at work, found the subterfuge of trying to make a shake and drink it a bit much. I ended up retreating to the car park in the sun and enjoying my mango special on my own! I just don't want to explain what I'm doing to anyone, nor cope with the inevitable negativity from the never-been-fat brigade who always comment on things like this. I did drink masses of water though, and managed a good 3+ litres. (I think my bladder capacity is increasing too ;) ).

I feel like I've been supercharged all day, and had no problem with energy whatsoever, it now I'm home I'm like the toy who runs out of batteries. I've literally crashed stone dead. I'm shattered! In the past this would cue a crappy food binge, but tonight just a chicken and mushroom soup.

Got one more choc mint shake before bed, then I'm done.

Xx

Thanks bubbly!

I slept like a log last night - missed watching Frankie on BBC1 (great show btw) and just slept. Woke a little earlier but feel 100% more energised and ready for the day!

500ml water in already, and I'm looking forward to today.

I think sleep is going to play a massive part in this journey. I think for too long I haven't listened to what my body needs (rest and sleep) and instead artificially boosted energy through using high cal and high fat foods, especially in the evening. I suspect I've probably just needed to get an early night, or to stop trying to cram so much into one day! The end result being a stressed, time poor, hugely overweight me! It's another thing to note, and another lesson learned.

So Wednesday is looking good, great weather, and porridge, veg soup, and a banana shake today. (Only got 1 mango left and I want to save that!). :) :)

I'm planning to start CD soon, and it's so useful to be able to prepare myself by reading these diaries. Thanks for the inspiration and preparation, and good luck!

Thanks whelping - good luck with starting your Cambridge journey. I love reading the diaries too, and I'm finding it a real help to write one too. It gives me a real opportunity to think things through if you see what I mean?

After multiple yoyo dieting years, I'm finally looking at patterns and habits and learning about what and why I eat! And the best bit is losing the weight :)

Way to go CC. You're well in the zone :) yeah, sleep is massively important and do under-rated...

I love Frankie. My daughter says she is like me. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing! I can confirm that I do talk to myself, sing and dance often and ill bend the rules at work if it means helping someone!

Hope they make more of them. Miles better than that Miranda. I just don't see why people think she's funny :-/

Have a great Wednesday x

Yep, Frankie is ace. I'm a little bit of a chicken when it comes to breaking rules but I'm definitely a sing loud, dance big, and love lots kind of girl!

Thanks Bubbly, I'm definitely in the right headspace ATM. Long may it last!

Xx

Hi there - hope you don't mind if I hop in! The diaries are so great for keeping your motivation and for realising that you're not quite the freak that you think you are (oh no - am I projecting again!!!). I often think that my way of eating is so off the charts of normal that there cannot possibly be people like me and I certainly never see them around.

I have been through the judgement comments at places of work and it can be hard but I gotta say that most of the time people don't care, they're curious or they're supportive. I find that after the first 3 or 4 weeks that I want to enjoy the smells and looks of food and call it my "food porn" - I troll websites and cooking shows for recipes and start teasing myself with all of these wonderful things I can eat once I'm am eating again - anyone else do that?

You sound in the zone - I'm also a Frankie fan and figure all that dancing and singing is only gonna help with the weight loss. Good luck and can't wait to hear what you next weight loss is - 10lbs is freaking fantastic! What other diet gives you that boost??!!
