Cheekychinchilla's food and stuff

Thanks for the hair compliments guys!
I know it's thin because you can see my scalp and bald patches when I put my hair up and when I style it or move it  Just shows my hairdresser did a great job if y'all can't tell ;) Which is what I want!!

I didn't get any cakes or anything at the garden centre. Just a black coffee!! They had some Christmas drinks but I didn't see they had soy milk till after :p But probably for the best! I did pick up a beautiful looking florentine but put it back. None of the sweet things really jumped out at me and I didn't want to get something just for the sake of it. Mum felt a bit guilty coz she had a scone, but I'm not overly fond of scones so I didn't really care :p
There were so many nice things in the foody bit but all I came away with was Cyrpus potatoes and corn on the cob ;) Go me on the will power!!

Feeding the chickens wasn't fun because I thought one of them was dead! And it was dark and they were smelly lol! Plus I didn't know what I supposed to give them so just chucked grit and food everywhere :p Gave them all a poke and picked up the one that was playing dead - who just glared at me looking very unimpressed!!

Didn't buy anything naughty in Asda. But kicking myself for not getting the reindeer jumper that was in the sale. Never mind... Got some Quorn, veg, Chewy Delights, and a few other bits. Some good offers! Still no blackberries though because they were out of stock

I was so bloody hungry while I was out and rather lightheaded. So I probably should have got something, but had coffee, some Coke, and then a handful of grapes when I got in before I sorted out the bunnies :) It wasn't true hunger though because my lunch was quite big and feeling and full of sugar! So think I'm just having a run of bad, dizzy days.

I did manage just over an hour of lecture reading before. Sooooooo boring though coz part of it was health and safety and another bit was about taking payments and petty cash :zz: The next one is a 16 page lecture on COSHH ..... yay.....

Friday food.
Wanted a big lunch coz I'm going round to my friends to look after her a bit. She had the repeat of the nasty procedure she needs this morning. She's dog sitting somewhere else tonight and I don't know if I'm having tea with her or what we're doing. So, big lunch so I don't eat rubbish - esp as I'll be doing a Costa run.
Going to take my laptop with me to do course work coz she's bound to spark out with all the sedation and pain killers she'll have had!

Lunch: 2 free Linda M Sausages & 1 Italian (0.5)
Half a tin of beans with onion, orange pepper, mushroom, and cherry tomatoes in
Cheesy scrambled eggs (half HexA1)
Wholemeal toast (HexB1)
Half tbsp of bbq sauce (0.5)

Tea: Big Cyprus jacket spud
1 syn chilli
Salad
Beetroot
Cheese (rest of HexA1)

Snacks: Chewy Delight (HexB2)
Handful of grapes before bed.

Drinks: Coffee. Chocolate orange mocha latte (HexA2 + 10 )

That's my kind of yummy lunch!!

Sorry, I laughed when a read the bit about the chickens, especially the one playing dead, it must have given you a scare :( That would be my idea of hell going to look after someone's animals and finding one dead.
Wow, you were amazingly good at the garden centre, no cakes and black coffee :D
Don't you just love COSHH  I do the H&S safety for reception and I used to do it for the pub, so boring :zz: I also get the joy of training all the staff and I can see them thinking oh god here we go, I wish she'd shut up lol.
I roast both cauli and broccoli, usually as a part of a recipe, I use fry light and it seems to work for me, you need to make sure the veg is really dry. You can have 28 pistachios as a HEB.
And what a yummy way to start your day :) x x

Bloody hell! A small Costa chocolate orange mocha latte with soy milk is 299kcal according to their nutritional info  Holy crap! So even using the milk as a Hex you can probably say it's 10 syns!! Didn't realise they were quite that bad. So they're going to have to go ;) Had one today coz my friend really wanted a Costa. But I avoided all the new yummy cakes. And I even took her to McDonald's and didn't get anything. So not so bad I guess!

We're both craving pizza though but instead of going for Domino's (what we really want!) I'm going to go round to the house she's dog sitting at and we're going to Sainsbury's and we're going to make our own fakeaway instead. Still won't be fantastic syns, but surely much much less than Domino's. Feel like it's a decent compromise!
My Sister's out tonight and is having a pizza takeaway and my Mum is at her mum's and is getting a chippy tea!! So I feel pretty good about not giving in all these times and I have saved a fair few syns and been good this week :angeldevil:

Health and safety drives me nuts Barbette! I'm sick of it. And so boring!! It's been covered a lot in this course and work are always banging on about it - which IS understandable. But once you've heard it you've bloody heard it ;)

How long would you roast the cauliflower and broccoli for?

And thank you for the pistachio answer too :D Got some in my Graze box and looking forward to them - one of the few nuts I actually like.xx

Wow- you get a great deal for your hair cut/colour! Was thinking it would be like £100 in which case would have been something to drop haha

Ouch re: costa syns! But damn girl you have been so good with food recently, you've been totally back on plan so 10 syns for a treat is alright :D and fakeaway is gonna be so much better than dominoes as you said! Fab job kid!

What is orange pepper? Saw it in your food diary... Sounds interesting!
Do you only drink soy milk btw?

Sorry that you've been feeling low, I meant that I think it is fantasic how you are keeping busy and optimistic despite being so ill!
I'm excited for you for your next lapland trip :D cool that you have bonded more with your friend and will go again with her.

Lol I don't know what you use to reply to Minimins Tetris but I can never see money values you've typed. This is what it says on my puter "Was thinking it would be like £100" But I will assume that you thought it was quite expensive! And yeah, mine takes about 2/2.5hrs for the colours, cut, and style. And for £35 you can't argue can you? She does such a good job! When she used to just cut my hair she'd charge me a tenner! So yeah, you can kinda see why I don't want to let it go. And it's the only thing about my appearance I put money in to tbh.

I know, the Costa drink really surprised me. Usually a flavoured drink if you don't count the milk is about 6 syns, so this one is crazy! At least I didn't go over daily syns and I have a crap load saved up anyway. Just shocked me!
I very rarely use milk. Only if I run out and it has to be skimmed. But regular milk with coffee makes me really sick! I had to cut out milk with coffee a while back because I couldn't tolerate it. Soy or nut milks are better, but I don't have any kind of milk in my coffee at home now. And cream makes me projectile vomit ;)
It's so odd because I can eat cheese and yogurt and don't feel sick and hot milk for hot chocolate is usually ok. But mix it with coffee and urgh!! So yeah, soy all the way if I'm getting a hot drink out that needs milk. But yeah, soy or skimmed I can't have much milk anyway.

Orange pepper is an orange coloured pepper LOL! Sorry for the confusion, it's nothing special. I just fancied orange instead of red ;)

It's ok, I knew what you meant and I'm glad I come across as positive at least some of the time. To me I just sounds like a whinging bint :p

Aye me and my friend have definitely bonded over this year. Even the holiday bonded us! But with us both having mystery illnesses and going to each others appointments, supporting each other and looking after one another, we're spending more and more time together, especially now that she's moved out from home (her family are nuts and stress me out!!) I've spent all afternoon and evening with her too coz she had her colonoscopy this morning (2nd time and it worked!!) so she was off her face on sedation and painkillers. So been taxi and took her for her celebratory McDonalds and Costa lol! She's who I'm going to have our pizza fakeaway with too :)
She's also now my wife and I've been calling her that for about 2 months Lol! xx

LOL I feel like a twat... For some reason I thought you meant ground pepper that was orange... LOL? Obviously peopper the vegetable! *bangs head against table*

No idea why my phone posts weird numbers instead of symbols but it also read your pasting of those symbols as 100quid (with the pound sign) that I wrote lol... Weird phone!

Are frappacinos around 6 syns too then? I miss fraps! Coffee makes me asthmatic (lol?) so I always go for the caramel fraps etc... Mmm

Hahaha it's ok! And I couldn't think of how else to say it was a pepper lol. Maybe there is an orange type of pepper somewhere. But, still :p

How bizarre with the symbols and numbers. I've noticed some other people's posts like that! Maybe it's using the app rather than the site? Tis very strange!

I remember my friend telling me that a tall caramel light frapp (Starbucks) was about 5 syns if you counted the milk as HexA. I don't know what the official thing is lol. They're my favourite too! And were the only flavoured drink I could have before I switched to soy milk. It is nice being able to try the new flavours now, but I still prefer just black coffee really. Nice for something different I suppose :) Going to stick with tall/small from now on though and watch those calories on them!

Food for today will be rather off plan lol. Having Pizza fakeaway at my friends. We're doing our own version of the Domino's £25 offer! I'm gonna get some of the new southern fried Quorn bits I think coz I don't want to be left out of the 'fried chicken' lol! Wont be drinking though, coz I'll be driving, so at least there wont be extra drinking syns on top of the food.

Going to have a healthy, relatively low syn, lunch tho :)
Weetabix with banana, 2tsp dried fruit, blueberries, maple syrup, and Kara milk. Will be 2 syns, so not so bad.

Doing some course reading before I go out too. COSHH followed by manual handling. Absolute joy ;) Got Paul Hollywood's show on in the background and to keep me slightly entertained, but not too distracted. He was making empenada's before and that got my attention ;)

Need to sort out the bunnies too, but really want to get a good chunk of reading done too. Bit dizzy today, esp after lunch, and my face/nose/sinuses are burning today. My throat and ears are still grumbling too. Really though I was coming down with something, but the ears and throat thing has been two weeks now. Maybe a new symptom? Or maybe I am just run down.
Didn't sleep very well again and had some bizarro dreams and kept waking up really, really panicked. I feel like I'm on a countdown now, knowing that money stops on the 18th Dec - which is also my "general medicine" referral day too! I feel so bloody stressed by it all :(
I really hope next week's appointment goes well and they'll at least have some idea. Have to hope things will start getting better.

Did a bit of research and been talking to someone who has ME/CFS and it's terrifying. I have like all the symptoms of it and apparently it can come hand in hand with endocrine stuff. It's really scary coz it's degenerative and also there's no actual treatment, just symptomatic. Hopefully it's not that. I could also have fibromyalgia - I know a lot about this because my Mum has it. And I have a LOT of the symptoms.
Just :( I just want them to find out what it is. Coz no matter what it is, scary or not, I can deal with it once I know. You know? Just tell me what it is and what I can do about it. That's all I want!

Urgh, anyway, back to coursework....x

Will have to have a look at that Hotel Chocolat it's not far from me, I only live 1/2 mile outside the city centre :) If you ever come over give me a shout I can get you discount at village hotels.
The broccoli/ cauli I've roasted with garlic on it's own or with other veg and it usually takes 20-30 minutes. I'm terrible with times I usually just watch it and get it out when it's ready.
Your fakeway sounds good and it will be a lot better than a real dominoes :)
I can undertsand you wanting to know exactly what is up with you wether it's good or not as that way you'll know what to expect, have an idea what your limitations will be and will be able to plan your future properly. This not knowing must be really annoying because you don't know wether it's permanent, wether it's curabla and you've no idea what to expect in the future. I really hope this next appointment sheds some light on the situation. x x

That would be fantastic, thank you Barbette :D I used to go to Leeds a few times a year, but my friends have finished uni and are back here (my fake brother & Sister) and my other friend that lived there is now in Bradford and has no room for guests really! I do really like Leeds :)
Very exciting that Hotel Chocolat have opened a restaurant oop North!

Yeah I think our fakeaway was much better than Domino's. I'm not a big fan of Domino's anyway and have had it maybe twice ever lol! But my friend does like them. But I think ours was nicer and even cheaper than their offer :)

That's the worst part of being ill, not knowing what's going on and how to deal with it. If I could plan and adjust and work things out it would be easier. Just hope this appointment is the start of something. The unknown is scary when it comes to health stuff. And I like to plan things anyway, so having so much out of my hands is really stressing me out :( Soon hopefully eh?!x

Re: Cheekychinchilla's food and stuffCheekychinchilla's food and stuff

Glad you had a great fake away!

It really sucks that all you can do is wait with this illness to find out what it is... And for so long! Fingers and toes are crossed that this next appointment/scan thing is the missing peice if info to the puzzle. X

My appointment next week is just the first meeting with the specialist, so I doubt very much anything will actually happen. Got a feeling they will want some more tests ordered. But it would be nice if they at least had some sort of idea!
I'm sick of waiting and not getting any help and having to come up with my own treatment plans. So frustrating!

Still feeling a bit full from last night so going to have a rather small lunch, for me lol! Will try to keep today as low syn as possible.
My friends have invited me and Michelle round for a takeaway tea tomorrow night to thank us for looking after the chickens while they were away *head desk* Lovely gesture and I can't say no really lol. So tomorrow day time will be low syn too!! Not the best way to start the week, but these things happen :)

Feel really tired today and not quite with it. Will try and read a lecture or two later. Even one would do!xx

Sunday food:

Lunch: 2 boiled eggs
Wholemeal toast (HexB1)
Half tbsp of tomato sauce (0.5)

Tea: Quorn steak
Frylight roasties
Mash
Roasted cauliflower & broccoli (yay!)
Sprouts
Carrots & turnip
Gravy - Mum just made a pan so I haven't a clue to be honest. At least 4 syns! Probably more, but  Ok, will call it 5.
Horse radish, cranberry, and picalilli - 2.5

Snack: 2 Alpen Lights (HexB2)

Drinks: Coffee. Diet Ginger Ale. Squash. Options made with Kara (half HexA1 + 2)

Syns used: 10

Ok, not exactly a low syn day  But at least it's within syns! There's been so much temptation today!! Glad I haven't given in :)

Well this next week is going to be terrible for me food wise! And money wise!
Tomorrow I'm going round to my friends for a thank you takeaway.
Tuesday my sister and her Mr have invited us out to tea - probably a carvery.
Wednesday I'll be going the cinema but will make this a good, low syn day.
Thursday I'm meeting Michelle for lunch in town, we're going to my hospital appointment, then to the cinema, then meeting a few work friends for tea at The Egg.
Friday my ex made a mistake and got a load of Pizza Express vouchers so is taking us all out for tea and then we'll prob all go for drinks somewhere.

Really hoping I have no plans for the weekend lol! And can get in a couple of decent on-plan days! Also need to fit in course work and the animals and stuff. I'm knackered just thinking of it all! Should be good tho :) x
