Cheekychinchilla's food and stuff

Hey Kelly. Sorry, my remark yesterday might have sounded a little insensitive or critical; it wasn't meant to be. I merely meant to say that your day would have left anyone tired, let alone someone who has to cope with all that you do.

Hair sounds brilliant BTW - glad you like it!

Oh no Patty!! I was just explaining. I didn't see your post as critical or anything, not at all. It's a bloody big pain in the a*se sorting all this stuff out. Still going today lol.
I know Michelle wouldn't mind, but you want your house and animals to be all clean and tidy before someone comes to stay don't you?! Just like we clean the room on holiday before the cleaner gets there LOL!!

The good news is I'm pretty much packed now. Just the last few bits to go in on Monday morning. Eeek!

All my washing's done and drying. And I've tried the nail varnish I bought for my toes. It's Barry M Mermaid, from the Aquarium collection. I'll find a pic later, but it's a clear varnish with sparkly blue, green, and gold flakes in. Very me ;) Hahaha!!

Attempting an EE day to help me out today. Did a big tuna and veg pasta salad for lunch. Not sure about tea, but determined to do an EE day and low ayn too :) xx

Didn't manage low syn, but was within syns and an EE day :)

Sounds good to me!

I know what you mean about cleaning as I'm the same and for me, it's the thought that any one might think I'm dirty or lazy. If I had a cleaner, the place would be spotless because I'd clean before she came so that she couldn't gossip about me!

I've got a Barry M confetti varnish - Sour Apple - which looks stunning over a green or blue varnish (I only ever do my toenails), but the little bits of glitter make it hard to get off.

I can't believe your holiday is almost here - I'm sure both you and your mum are ready for it.

Will do a proper post tomorrow as I'm knackered. One hell of an awful day at work today. Saved slightly by me getting to carry and cuddle a St Bernard puppy a few times - the first thing I will do when I get there in the morning ;)

Patty glitter nail varnishes are a nightmare to get off aren't they?!!! I remember having a sparkly red one a few years back and I might have thought that amputating my toes would have been quicker and easier than using nail varnish remover ;)
I occasionally do my toes and very rarely do my finger nails. If I do my fingers I have to use a crackle effect one to hide how messy I am lol! Doesn't really matter in your toes!
I think I should have used a light colour under the one I've used, but it's on now and looks quite nice, so will just "top up" thru my holiday ;)

Right, time for bed. Hoping I get more than 4hrs sleep tonight and /that/ vet isn't a t*t tomorrow afternoon.....
Night all.xx

PS. We also have a dog in that looks like a Corgi X Pomeranian. Basically a neon orange fluffy fox XD

So far the St Bernard is doing ok. It's a possible foreign body, possible parvo, or possible general tummy bug lol!! The foreign body seems unlikely as we've x-rayed her and she's eating. Hopefully just a tummy bug! She was the last thing I cuddled before I left work :) Very lately left work!
I also went in late though. I had another very rough night. About 5hrs sleep, but still awake past 2am! I kept waking up with horrible pain in my legs - they felt like they were on fire at times :( So I decided taking my time to get ready and go in a little late was better than not going in at all and having to put someone through covering a Sunday shift at the very last minute. I was 40mins late in the end, but considering I was doing a 10.5hr shift it hardly dented it!! i've left my boss a note to let her know and I said to take it off my lieu time. Best I can do really.

I've had to reshuffle my suitcase. I had to take out a few things or I wouldn't have been able to take any shoes :/ My own fault for buying a new case and not checking just how much smaller it was than the old one I had!!! I probably wont wear everything, but I like to have options ;) And some stuff, like Lush bath stuff, wont be coming back with me so there'll be a bit of extra space coming back. Not much though. Will have to pack smartly again!!! Eeeep!

I had better go to bed and try to sleep. We're being picked up at 10 and I've left having a proper shower till tomorrow so I'll need to get up a bit too early for me to make sure I have time in case I'm not good and slow again.

Ah well, this time tomorrow I hope to be nice and relaxed in our holiday apartment :)

Starting to feel a bit sad about leaving the animals. I always miss them so much!! *blush* They'll be in good hands tho. And Rachelle is keeping Sven on her driveway and borrowing him when John has the car, so I know he'll be ok too ;)

Right guys!
I should have pretty decent wifi access while I'm away so will try and keep in touch. I wont torture you with an actual food diary tho ;)

See you all soon.xx

Aww man!! I did a nice long post before and it seems to have vanished!!

We got here rather late last night thanks to a delayed flight and a slightly faulty bus lol. But just in time to make it to the local Spar to get a few bits for a picnic tea.

I'm trying to be good-ish with food and have got stuff like fruit, Activia 0%, low cal Mayo, wholemeal bread, etc. We ate out tonight at a Chinese buffet, the food was gorgeous!! Obv mine was all veggie stuff, except for one bite of a chicken spring roll - didn't realise it was chicken!!! I had minimal fried stuff and fruit with ice cream for dessert. I did have a small glass of beer tho ;)
Brunch was yogurt, fruit, small portion of granola/muesli thing, and two small bits of wholemeal baguette with low fat cheese.
I can see cheese butties being the majority of my diet for the next week or so lol.

Today didn't start so well as I was so ill I could barely move till after 12!! Mum went out for a few bits and we sat on our HUGE balcony and read for a bit. Eventually ventured out for a walk sometime after 3.
I'm so bloody painful it's insane. And I mean ALL of me :( Hoping it's a mixture of work, travel, being I'll/flu jab, and I'll settle a bit over the next few days.
Still not sleeping even remotely close to my usual bad attempt at sleeping. I'm bloody exhausted!!

But it is nice here, too hot for me but Mum assures me it's actually nice ;) The apartment is lovely and big, and the resort has grown up a bit in the last ten years, but looks great. Oh and the fridge is called Thor :)

Going to read and attempt to sleep.
Night all.xx

Oh yum - that looks delicious and the fact that it's healthy is a bonus!

I hope you're feeling less painful and got some sleep; tiredness (exhaustion!) must surely make the pain seem worse?
The apartment sounds absolutely lovely - liking the sound of a large balcony for reading on and a fridge named Sven seems somewhat sexy!

Oh, and speaking of all things Swedish, I had Oatley in my porridge today - it's now my new favourite.

Sorry not been on, manic at work :(
Sounds like you've had a rough time yourself with type illness, hope it's selling down now and you're getting to enjoy your holiday.
The apartment sounds amazing :D and your breakfast looked wonderful. Enjoy yourself and don't worry about SW too much, make the most of it while you can. I think this holiday is a well deserved break for you and your mum x x x x

Hope you're having a great time and not too inhibited by your illness! Missing your posts. Am off tomorrow for a month, eeek. X

Hey everyone!
Just stopping by to say hello and that I'm still alive.

I had a nice holiday, but it was very busy. Not much time to sit still or recover. I paid for it quite dearly and still am. It was nice, it really was, but my Mum needs to learn to relax and take things a bit more easy. She too is very, very ill now too. She's managed to pick up a horrible cold and is suffering a lot with her illnesses too.

Food was very much on/off SW. I feel like I've put on about 4st ;) I'm sure all the walking we did will have helped, and I did some swimming too, but expecting a massive gain!

I will upload pics to FB and a few on here too :)

Since I've been back I've been to dinner at Rachelle's house, out for dinner & drinks for one of Rachelle's friends birthdays, and to the cinema. Truly exhuasted!!
Food is still pretty much off plan. But I am technically still on holiday until Thursday ;)

Hope everyone is doing ok.xx

Welcome back!

I'm sorry your holiday didn't help you or your mum - it must be tough when you're with a person who can't sit still and even tougher if you yourself are that person. Hopefully you'll improve a bit before you start work again.

I did have a peak at your fb - it sounds as though you had one or two very tasty drinks/treats!!

Hey Patty!
I'm the same as Mum really. When I go somewhere I like to explore and see as much as possible. But doing it as a newly sick person - and I really haven't had very much time to get used to this - it was very tough.
On saying that though, I have decided to stop moaning. We had a great time. We did lots of things, some things Mum couldn't do first time around because that was when her illnesses really started and she was very ill and not used to it yet. One of the things we did was Cuevos De Los Verdes (Cave of the Greens) which is a part of a volcanic tube system. And once you go in you have to do the tour, you can't turn around or come back, you are in that cave and it is quite hard in places. A lot of low bits and steep bits. Well, it is a volcanic cave!! But she did it :D I did too, but I've done it a couple of times before too lol.
We visited a lot of places related to and built/designed by their famous artist Cesar Manrique. Again, some Mum had done and some she hadn't. I did see a new place though, the memorial to the farmers and the museum behind it, where we found some really interesting sculptures of monkeys by a German Artist who worked with Manrique.
We went to a tiny animal park up in the North of the island and got to feed some otters.
We finally made it to Teguise market, which was where I had fresh HOT churros and HOT chocolate for brunch in 28oC heat LOL! And also where I finally had to buy a hat. The market was amazing!! There I also met some ferrets riding a donkey, a pig, a sheep, some goats, and a dog in a jumper LOL! This actually happened, I wasn't drunk or dilarious from heat stroke ;) When Mum told Rachelle about it she asked me if I had seen these things too or had Mum lost it :D
I swam in the sea 3 times - I think. And paddled one day. I finished a book and started a new one. Ate some nice food and had a few drinks. And we had fun and a laugh and it was good.

I would LOVE to know just how much we walked though. I will get a Fitbit before my next holiday ;) One day we did an epic walk from the beginning of Puerto Del Carmen right along to the Old Town, via getting lost in a residential bit, up some hills, and to the harbour looking for the veggie place. Judging from Google Maps we walked at least 10km that day alone!!

Anyway, I will post a few pics for anyone who doesn't have FB and would like to see.

Still not eating very healthily but an important decision has been made. I am going to try very hard with SW and be sensible in the run up to Christmas and hopefully lose a few pounds and then after Xmas and my birthday I am going to kick ass! I need to lose this weight and I want to be healthier and fitter and stop messing around really. It looks like I am probably going on holiday with Michelle next year - probably Tenerife. And I want to be as thin and fit as possible ;) Not just for the holiday tho. I want to support my body the best I can and look after it a bit better. Nothing outrageous! Just back to SW properly, treating it like a new start, and trying to exercise when I can.xx

Sounds like a lovely place to go - plenty to see and do but also nice if you want to be lazy! Fantastic photos; love the otters.

i know it's very low tech, but would a simple pedometer do? I wore one in Berlin last year and was amazed by the amount of walking (ie number of steps) we did.

Sorry not been on, very busy at work. It sounds like you have a wonderful time and the pictures are amazing. It's such a pity its took out of you, I hope you're getting there and starting to recover.
Hope this week is a good one and work isn't too bad for you x x x

Hey guys!

Well, first things first, the scales have spoken lol!! Just before I went away I was hovering around 78kg - which was annoying seen how well I'd been doing. And this morning I weight 79kg. Not anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be!! But I guess it's still 3kg/7lb up from where I had got to.
so, my current plan is to get back to eating properly and following SW. Life will always get the way, but I am going to make a bit more of an effort to just cave in to stuff whenever just to fit in. But if I really want a meal off plan then I will ;) It's all about balance isn't it? But I do want to start losing weight again and being more healthy.
I'm going to try my best with exercise when I can.
The run up to Xmas and my birthday is always a nightmare. But not every day will be throwing off-plan food at me, so I will make the most of on-plan days!!

Anyway, how has everyone been??

I had a bit of an up and down weekend. Saturday I was too ill to do anything so swapped some plans to Sunday, cancelled other plans, and stayed in with Mum for a takeaway and to watch a film. Yesterday I met Tim and Caz for coffee and cake at Dobbies and then we went to see Gone Girl - which is superb btw!

Couldn't sleep at all last night. I must have slept at some point after about 2am - I text Michelle around then as she couldn't sleep too. And I'm on earlies at work this week so was up at 6:45! I'm a bit on autopilot today! Managed to get through work ok.
I stopped at Sainsbury's on the way home - Godzilla is out today ;) And I parked up and was stood at my boot getting a bag. On the other side of the carpark, and I mean a complete other section, this man in a van/bus thing was beeping and flashing his lights at me and absolutely screaming at me. I couldn't hear him coz he had his windows shut! But it was definitely me has was ranting at and I haven't a clue at all. Really p*ssed me off and I'm so bloody tired I almost started crying *blush* More out of anger tho!! I have NO idea what that was about. He was on his way out and I had been sat in my car a minute or two and parked NOWHERE near him!

Attempting an EE today for my first day back. I really wanted a jacket spud :D Off to the cinema later, but I'm having my tea before I go coz it's a late-ish screening, so will take a low syn or HexB snack.
I'll re-weigh on Saturday as I'm on earlies this weekend too.

Patty I've never had much look with pedometers. I would quite like a Fitbit or Polar Loop anyway tho. Will need to save a bit tho as I need some pennies. When I'm here I can use Map My Walk for walking and jogging, should I get that far, but I can't use it abroad. Something to think about, but more out of interest really!
I can't even begin to imagine how much distance we covered. Not too many steps because we really do have to look for disabled access for Mum. But our apartment was 2 floors up LOL! I'd LOVE to know what we did. But I think it's safe to say a LOT ;)

Hey to you too Barbette :D

I promise I will get back in to the swing of Miminims and catch up on all your diaries :) xx
