Lost 6lbs last night! 6.5lbs to go to get rid of that awful "kitchen refurb gain" :D

Unfortunately, though my kitchen is done, the contractors left me a little gift: my cooker timer was obliterated (replaced today) and my washing machine is currently off limits as every time I try to use the dryer it trips out all the electrics. I set my washer machine to wash overnight, so I could've woken up to a fridge full of defrosted food. Good thing I noticed, and good thing I have insurance on all my appliances.

I made a complaint to my housing association, and they've been onto the contractors (the head guy came round the other day offering "compensation" of £50 so it "doesn't go any further" and questioning "how old" my appliances were). Told him I'd rather wait and see what the engineers discover when they come to fix them.

I honestly don't like complaining, and I can be nitpick-y (I noticed one of my dish sponges and a couple of loo rolls went bye bye when they were around...weird and annoying, but I didn't mention it), but three weeks without the use of my kitchen, constantly being kept waiting (I do have a life!) EVERYTHING was working perfectly fine before they took my kitchen apart...the plumber had to come back twice as at first they hadn't even connected my water to my washing machine...

Anywho, I've had a bad eating day thus far! Started with good intentions, then went a bit doolally. Back on track for tomorrow though...

Have been slightly off plan these past few days. The riots have forced the shops, petrol stations and supermarkets surrounding us to close, so haven't been able to get my weekly shop done. I was barely able to get cash from our local cash point (almost empty), and I've just heard that a jewellry shop was looted and an Argos store broken in to, just down the road from our home.

I really hope this craziness ends soon. At this rate, I'm unsure they'll even be a class tomorrow night, as our class is held in a building on a high road not unlike those that have already been looted and vandilised. Hope everyone is staying safe.

Thanks guys! Everything seemed to calm down a lot round here yesterday, the shops opened one by one, but we didn't risk it, went early just in case! Made it to class, which was really just a quick weigh-in as our C knew quite a few people didn't want to stay out too late considering what's been happening. I gained (boo!), really need to get out of this funk and stop messing about!

At least London seems to have regained a sense of normalcy. This has been a surreal week. Hope you're all well too!
