Claire's Christmas Countdown

Right, in an attempt to get myself to target before Christmas and give myself a kick up the bum I’m going to do a food diary to keep myself focussed and hopefully pick up some tips from everyone.

I have 5.5 lbs to go and 8 weeks to do it in. I have to allow for at least one STS week due to work’s Christmas party (I am not going to resist the champagne or the hotel breakfast the next morning for ANYTHING) but I am determined that I will not put weight on that week, I will not use that one night out as an excuse to be bad for the whole week.

The whole journey has been a slow one for me so I hope I am being realistic.

People, please feel free to comment and offer suggestions of alternatives to the things I eat!

Right, today is planned as follows:

looking good so far, cant beleive wine gums are a syn each, i could use a months syns in 1 night!

Quick questions, im new here and to the diet world (although i did try around this time last year) what does STS mean?

Hello helpme, thanks for stopping by :)

I don't think wine gums are really a syn each, I just allowed a syn for each to be on the safe side. Too lazy to go & look it up . I think a whole packet is something like 9 syns. I love sweets & usually avoid them as I find it really hard to just have one or two but my hubbie bought them for me.

STS means 'stayed the same'.

Righto, here's today's food:

Friday 29/10/10 Extra Easy

Breakfast: usual fruit, yogurt, honey (1 syn) & green tea

Snack: Toffee & pecan Hifi bar (HEB)

Lunch: Egg fried rice (cooked rice, peas, sweetcorn, onions, green beans, 2 eggs) followed by a big bowl of melon

Snack: Malted milk biscuit (2 syns) and a cup of green tea

Dinner: SW chips and homemade scotch eggs (3 syns for sausage meat & breadcrumbs) wih coleslaw (2 syns for mayonnaise)
Activia peach yogurt (0.5 syn)

Now debating whether or not to have a chocolate options drink... I probably will :p

Total syns for day: 10.5

Up ridiculously early, This whole staying in bed for an extra hour thing doesn't apply to people with 2 year olds.

So pleased to lose another pound last night, leaving 4.5 to go until target.

We had a really good food tasting session at weigh in which racked up a few more syns but didn’t take me over 15 for the day – most people had actually brought in free food including a lovely risotto that I’m going to try to make for dinner tonight. The lady didn't bring in the recipe, she is going to bring it in next week, but she told me what was in it and I'm going to have a go anyway. I'd planned to make carbonara for dinner so I have bacon in anyway.

There were also some yummy choc chip biscuits that were 2.5 syns each, some mexican rice, microwave chocolate cake, paella, some fab little frankfurter sausages that did NOT taste like diet food at all - the person that brought these didn't stay so nobody had any idea where they were from! Most of the recipes were from the magazine or SW cook books.

I made the chocolate truffles from on here and they went down really well. I think I might make them for treats over Christmas and try different flavours and maybe try doing some white chocolate ones as well.

Hi iv just started my own food diary on here so have taken (pinched:eek:) some inspiration from yours.

I drink green tea too, do you find it helps you with your weight loss? Iv been drinking it for ages just because i like it but was just wondering if you find it a help in anyway?

Good luck with your Christmas Coundown!! :xmascheers: x

Hi Donna,
Thanks for dropping by, it's nice to think that I might give someone some new ideas although I think I need some new ideas of my own
I have to say no, I haven't noticed much difference since I've been drinking green tea - I started drinking it because I like to have a warm drink now that it's getting colder but I don't actually like normal tea or coffee. I do like chocolate options but I don't want to use all my syns on those every day! Maybe it is helping - after all I have lost a pound for the last two weeks which is pretty good for me. If I lose weight again this week I might start thinking there's something in it :). Weigh in tonight!

Tuesday 09/11/10 EE
Breakfast: Pineapple, pear & grapes with Greek yogurt & honey (1 syn), green tea

Snack: Green tea, chocolate cake (1 syn), Fibre+ bar (HEB)

Lunch: Ky see ming (leftovers from my freezer - basically it's minced beef curry with cabbage, rice, green beans & celery in it. Tastes a lot nicer than it sounds, believe me )
Activia peach snack pot (½ syn)

Snack: Green tea, apple, sweet chilli snack-a-jacks (4 ½ syns)

Dinner: Dinner plans changed last night as other half not feeling well so I did something quick & easy after weigh in: half a tin of Tesco stewed steak, potato mashed with little bit of milk & cheese triangle (HEA) plus baby carrots & green beans.

Total for day: 7

Good luck with your Weigh in Tonight. Fingers crossed for you. My first weigh in tomorrow. You never know if we both get a big loss the whole forum will be drinking Green Tea :p

Ha ha, I'd love to get a big loss but it's just not my style unfortunately.

Best of luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed for you :cross:

Well, weigh in last night I lost half a pound so a tiny amount closer to target... better than further away I suppose :p. I don't think I could be any more 'good' so I think I just have to keep everything crossed that I can lose 4 pounds in the next 6 weeks.
