Confused - can anyone help please?

#1
Possibly a bit of a long post so sorry in advance!

I've been following the slimming world ee plan for a few weeks now and am getting a bit confused. My losses/gains so far have been:
Week 1 - minus 4lb
Week 2 - sts
Week 3 - minus 2lb
Week 4 - plus 1/2 lb

I've followed the plan fully and so a bit confused as to why I have only lost half of the time and even put some on when it wasn't star week:confused:.
The last week I ate 2/3 fruit and veg with each meal thinking this might help but I put on half a pound and not sure why.
i have been using my syns each day, making sure that I don't go above 15. I considered cutting these down but have heard that people tend to have better losses when they use their syns.

Can anybody give me any guidance or suggestions on what I can do please?
I have heard about success express but I don't really understand it.

I too think that 5.5lb is a good loss for a month, just think its nearly half a stone. If you want post a food diary and im sure people will have a look through and offer help. Don't get disheartened your doing great :)

Wow 5.5lbs in 4 weeks wish I had them results!

I've learnt over the years that with weight loss it's best to look over the month. With weekly weigh ins, you have to deal with fluctuations which can lead to disappointment.

I appricate you may not feel 5.5lbs is large loss to you but think how you would feel if you gained 5.5lbs! Bet it would feel massive :)

I agree with everyone else: look at your results over a month. My weight loss followed your pattern more or less the whole time, and I got there in the end!

Yes look at your weight loss so far As i used to beat myself up why i hadbt lost some weeks but then id be silly and sabotage my plan xx now i shall look back at what ive achieved so far and keep going xx keeping a food diary on here is a good idea as we can see if anything might be a culprit xx and mixing up your meals can help with a good loss xx

5.5lbs is a great loss, you should be very proud of yourself! Do you eat lots of bread, pasta, potatoes or rice on a daily bases? I find that weeks when I eat bread (and pasta) daily I have either a small loss of 0.5lb or I maintain. I follow the original (red) plan which limits those heavy carbs, you get to eat double healthy extras and potatoes etc fall under hexB. Why not mix your week up a bit by having a few EE days followed by a few Red or Green days?

Have you made sure you're drinking enough too? That's just as important as what you're eating.
But like everyone else has said, over the month it's been a good loss so I wouldn't be too disheartened
