Ok.... I don't think the bars slow down weight loss. Providing you only stick to the one a day. I have had some weeks without a bars and some weeks with them and I haven't noticed a difference in my losses.
As for the sticks.... As long as its pink your in ketosis. The darker pink it is the more dehydrated you are. Ideally it needs to be the lightest shade of pink on the chart otherwise your not drinking enough. If it remains that tan colour them your not in ketosis.
The ketostix are notoriously unreliable so dont get too hung up on it. The diet works because its very low calorie diet that also happens to be ketogenic. Not just because of ketosis
Ditch the stix if you are 100% you are ketotic. Bars are fab I have 2 a day one crunch and one chewy. My weight loss hasn't suffered it is down to the individual.
