Hello! I love veggie green diaries, always up for new ideas. Have a look at mine too if you fancy :)

You look like you've had a good day there, maybe lacking slightly in protein? Us veggies do need to work harder to have a balanced diet and it's hard sometimes! Did you definitely have all of your HEXAs? That's a lot of milk to just have in tea. I tend to use one HEXA for milk and one for cheese, unless I'm having porridge then I use both for milk.

I wouldn't call that masses of food for SW, sounds like a nice amount to me - I do eat quite a lot though! Eat 'til you're full, that's the important thing :(

Thanks Missy, I drink LOADS of tea all day as am at home all the time so use my milk from 6.30am till midnight, my mum suggested I try drinking water too, so will try that tomorrow. Will check out your diary, I love being inspired!

Definitely drink plenty of water - I did loads better once I started putting away 2 ltrs per day! It really does seem to help. Plus the SW diet is generally fairly high in fibre so you need water to keep things erm... moving. ;)

I dunno if it's inspiring but I do like experimental cooking! You'll have to wade through pages of me whining but there some food hidden in there, promise! x

    Yay, veggies :)

I find it hard to even have one of my HEXA's, as a vegan...I don't have milk in my tea, and I don't really like cereal much. And obviously cannae eat cheese, so kinda get stuck sometimes. Although I did start buying choc aotly milk which you can have 200ml of for one HEXA but I maintained last week and I don't know if it was drinking 400ml of that every day that stopped me loosing??

Do you always try and have 2 HEXA?

I always have my 2 healthy extras, up until today I would drink soya milk and was predominantly vegan but someone told me soya milk makes you fat, I don't know I might go back to being vegan as ethically I find it better. I have some coconut milk in. I drink tea all day and use milk on my cereal in the morning so I find it easy to use my As but harder to use up my Bs. SW is very vegan friendly, I have loads of pulses and beans in and I have a McDougal cookbook that is high carb fat free vegan way of cooking, I think all the recipes would be in line with SW

Ah you're the opposite of me - i always use my B choices but the only way I use my A choice is if I drink oatly choc oat milk...i don't really like cereal and i have my occasional hot drinks black anyway so never have milk.

Soya milk is good for you - well certain brands anyway. watch out for high sugar/sodium content in some! but compared to drinking milk, its better for you. Everything in moderation obviously, im sure if you drank 500ml of the stuff a day you'd notice, but its calories at the end of the day.

Have you seen Appetite for Reduction? It's my fave cook book and all the recipes are vegan and low fat! Some need little tweeks to fit SW but most work really well :)

I have the book right by me and have planned some dinners for this week! I got some unsweetened soya milk from sainsburys it's really low in fat and cals. I have a food shop due tomorrow and have some lovely meals planned, the kids might not think so and will probably have quorn mash and veg on days where I am being more adventurous.

I have looked on Fat Free Vegan for some pumpkin recipes so will be doing those this week, hoping the kids will like it. It's a great site for ideas.

Awesome :D It's a fab book, I've not cooked anything from it for a while - I'm moving house in a week and a bit and all my books are packed :(

Will have a look at that website - sounds interesting! I absolutely destest most soy milk that I've found, plus I can't have too much soy at the moment anyway. Oatly chocolate milk is lovely though and I quite like kara coconut milk too :) I've been a veggie for 8 years and I am considering veganism but the milk thing is an issue until I find a milk sub that I can actually stand in tea!

It's the milk I struggle with, I flit backwards and forwards between skimmed and soya depending on what I have in, think soya is bad for me though as I have a slow thyroid!

I found the alpro unsweetened was ok in tea but I hated it on cereal. It ended up working out that I would need three different milks at any one time to be happy. Can't afford that. :( Am trying to limit my soya at the moment due to TTC so sticking with cow juice for the moment...

I don't think I have lost anything this week and looking back it doesn't surprise me, I have had too much crap, gone over syns and generally overeaten, so I accept this week as a learning curve. writing a diary has really helped me to see where I am going wrong. It also hasn't helped having gingerbread pumpkin biccies and halloween choccies in the house! But i want to lose the weight so need to be more determined to eat well and only till satisfied!

Breakfast: 2 weeteabix(HExB) with banana and unsweetened soya milk (HExA), 1x small toast (HExB) with tsp marg and marmite.

Snack: Pineapple, bag of Jazzies (6.5 syns)

Lunch: scrambled egg, toast (HExB) beans, chopped tomatoes, pepper and shallots.

Dinner: Quorn fillet, mashed potato (with milk from allowance) sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and baked beans.

Snack Activia snackpot peach (0.5 syn though online it says free) satsumas

Drinks: Tea with unsweetened soya milk (HExA)

    Total syns: 8.5
