curly wurly in the freezer?!?!!?

Someone mentioned on here that they put a curly wurly in the freezer, why? im planning on having one tonight but wanted to know what freezing it was all about.

I've never done it tbh, I only really have the fun size choccie bars, I put them in the fridge overnight and they last much longer so I dont feel like I'm only having a small bit of chocolate

Yeah they last a lot longer. Take them out of the freezer, smash them and you have lots of little bits of curly wurly rather than one big one.

ok its in the freezer. How long do you leave it in there for?

I leave mine in for days - never really thought about how long they take to freeze.

Just till it is brittle - it should break easily if you drop it on your worktop

I usually freeze it for a couple of hours, then it gets yummy and brittle. You can either crunch it or suck the it til it softens. (ok, that sounds rude!!)

Hubby can't believe how long I can make one last

It was me on the save the curly wurly thread!
I always freeze chocolate for the simple reason it lasts longer. Nothing more! I freeze it when I buy it and leave it until I want it, that may be an hour or it may be a week.
I don't smash it up though but that's a good idea!
