Did vicky just ask a CHRISTMAS question?????????????????? (I'm waiting for someone to open a Christmas thread!!)

Halloween is over, Guy Fawkes nearly upon us so it's now the open season discussing for X-Mas (my pet-hate word!), being bombarded with shopping suggestion emails from Amazon, ELC and anyone else you've ever done business with, and a TV full of inane adverts for Ferrero Rocher

(other questions directed at me I might get round to tonight)

LOL Jo yes i did. decided im looking forward to the time off work, the lie ins etc.
so are you going to answer me or avoiding the question.

jo - naked at the docs?

Well... each and every year I trot out the same banalities so I was hoping to avoid having to do that this year. I guess I'll try to have days with, and days without...

Naked me? nah! You should see the pair of Bridget Jones's I'm wearing today... (I hope I don't get run over on the way! aaaah imagine being remembered like this!!!). My sister was amazed when I told her, over here, it's not uncommon to be weighed, stripped down and joints, ears and eyes examined for a sore throat!

We don't have to put up with Guy Fawkes over here fortunately... my poor cats wouldn't like it. Wouldn't be so bad if it was just for one evening...

Lol @ Jo. Bridgets rock.
Yes the fireworks started already will go on till that other festivity i hate - New years eve!

oooh I'm with you on that one and have been known, if tired, to go to bed before the witching hour...

oh me too. half ten last year, on my own at 8.30 asleep on the sofa the year before, drinking lemonade in bed at 11 year before. HATE the big pile of rubbish. again just commercialised.

ah Jaq - my friends bday is the 24th - how do you find it?

Its great, we go shopping in the sales for my birthday pressies and I'm under no obligation to make it a social event.

I dont do going out for new year, but enjoy watching the fireworks of the countries who get there before us. And any excuse for champagne.

Christmas, My birthday and new years eve all in one week.
I'll be clinging to the wagon by my fingertips!

Anju, those sweets sound tempting...

Just wondering if you got to your goal weight before u started conso? I am thinking would I be able to go on conso at 154lbs? And get down to 146 whilst doing conso?

Hi Bren,

yes I did wait till I was right on / below target. It meant holding on for several days while lingering at 64.3 till on Thursday I dropped to 63.9 (or whatever it was). That Friday I went off on a weekend in London with my sister (that was just lucky timing, this trip had been planned long before I even *heard* about the diet!) and had my first restaurant meal.
I have seen people discuss on the french forums exactly what you are proposing "Oh I'll do phase 1 conso to lose another 2 kg... " and I think I'm with Jo on this. Get to target first before even considering conso. As it turns out I *did* lose more weight (about 2kg / 4lb) overt time because I stuck to the rules and did not go overboard, so I gradually introduced extras (2 fruit most days etc), and now I've decided to more or less go to phase two (I was due to switch on Nov10th), so I've had a lot more carb meals this week and we'll see what that's done to WI on Friday.

Ah yes - Christmas birthdays here too: DH birthday is on the 24th. Anyone got present ideas for the impossible-to-buy-for man in my life??

Afternoon all!

Lovely and sunny here, warm too although rain is forecast for tomorrow. We're off for a walk and to the park before school this afternoon.

Christmas has been mentioned here too, daughter wants a goldfish (what she really wants is a pony, puppy and kitten but she's being realistic). The boys haven't said anything (well, the eldest has asked for a mobile phone but that won't be happening).
