Scary night, ambulance has just left as hubbie had his first hypo attack!!
He's type 2 and always opposite prob, he had a check up only yesterday and blood results from prev weeks test showed a 25% decrease in his levels which is fab and they are testing him again in 4 months and looking to reduce his meds.
It was scary.....he was blank, confused making no sense, sweating, tingly fingers and lips! They tested him at 3.1 but for someone who normally is 7-8 that's low. They fed him jam sandwich, sweet tea and his levels dropped again! Then realised jam was sugar free!! I had nothing naughty in house! Then remembered I had a box of chocs as a pressie for a friend, they gave him several and within a few mins he was much better, they said if I had left it he would have gone unconscious
Lying in bed now watching him as he sleeps to make sure he's ok. He's got to go to docs Monday, buy a new blood monitor and I've got to get glucose tabs and mars bars for emergencies!!
His refeed has gone out the window bless him as in a space of 15 mins he had bread, 6 sugars, jam, honey and 6 chocs.
This has never happened o him before but they did say this heat and the fact he was so sick yest and on the loo most of the day dehydrated him ........he's promised me he will make time to eat regularly and drink more fluid!
