Diet and Budget woes

Fortunately, I am not currently having to stick to any kind of budget (everything crossed!) but would like to add the following.

Planning is everything!
eating out of the freezer isn't always bad.
Over-portion and freeze your "good stuff"
fresh fruit & veg are key - market!
avoid pre-packed & processed.

The above seem to work for me. Vegetable soup costs pennies per portion and can be frozen by the ocean-load!

I really ought to try Aldi but I get so used to my favourite Asda I seldom bother. Must make more effort as there is an Aldi closer to me.

Back to the planning point, I find I can make/prepare ready-made meals almost as cheap as the salt/sugar-laden shop ones. Even if it costs slightly more they are better ingredients, free from additives and fresher!

I do insist on free-range/organic eggs though - my only real indulgence personal beliefs as a birdwatcher/lover etc.
