This is known as Heterochromia Iridis. Complete heterochromia is when one iris is a different colour from the other. Much less common is sectoral heterochromia where a part of one iris is a different colour from the rest. For more info visit:
Heterochromia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have sectoral heterochromia - I have a brown patch in my otherwise blue left eye. It's towards the top and so sometimes difficult to notice. Didn't stop the kids in primary calling me 'Alien Eye' though. I never used to like the fact I had this but now I realise it's something I do like about myself! I inherited it from my Grandma. Her Grandma had it and I'm hoping to pass it on if I ever start a family :)

Here are a few photos of me where you can kinda see it:

    My sis & Me

My friend Lexx & Me (I love her eye colour)

And some purposely taken close up ish ones

Anyone else 'suffer' from this phenomena?

    Erin. :)
