Yep, definitely a taxi. It is a fair walk especially if you have a bag with all the overnight paraphernalia that we girlies need!
I don't know about being scared though, although locals would probably know the shortcut through the Bullring and avoid all the backs of shops and warehouses that form the more direct route which outsiders would probably follow.
If it was me (a Brummie lass) I would walk, but I would recommend any non-Brummie to jump in a taxi.
