Doctor Has Me Worried

I've just got back from a routine review with my doctor concerning the medication I take for depression.
During the appointment he was asking about my weight, and then seemed to take over - he (and I) agreed that I can't take reductil and I've taken orlistat before with limited sucess. He's asked me to go back for blood tests in a week to see if there's an underlying cause for my weight - I assume thyroid/diabetes. What has me bothered is that depending on the results of the tests, he may refer me to a specialist at the hospital.
I've seen a dietician at the hospital before and got the impression that I knew more than she did.
I really don't think that bariatric surgery is for me, the current available meds are a no. So I'm wondering what the specialist could possibly be able to do for me. I want to be prepared for whatever they suggest more than anything.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

I don't have any answers - sorry. But if i was you and worried I'd ask for a telephone appointment with the Dr you saw and ask him more ... or even drop him a note at the surgery, saying you are now concerned as to what happens when you see the consultant.
