I'm newbie to CD (day 1 today) and just wondered what support people get from their CDC?
My counsellor has said that through this process she wants me to learn to deal with emotions (be it boredom, shame, loneliness etc) directly rather with food so that when the weight comes off and I restart conventional food I am developing the lifestyle habits and beliefs that naturally slim people have around food (my sister being a prime example of such a person). She says that if I end up coming back to her in the future after weight loss that she will, in essence, have failed me as a counsellor.
What do others do with their counsellors? Do you find yourself thinking differently? Behaving differently?
