DOING SW FROM HOME???

Morning all

Red day for me I think... I really can't get over the way my weight fluctuates for seemingly no reason, 4lbs on since Saturday,

I'm finding it really hard to judge how much weight I loose each week tbh now I'm sticking to it but with my weight constantly going up and down I can't tell if I am actually loosing weight or not....It's so annoying I really wanted to loose the weight I put on in August and now 4 months later I've not lost any of it.., I've been going through things and there doesn't seem to be any logic to it... I'm obsessing about it now

Think I might try a mix week two red days, an EE, maybe a green or two and then SE and going to try not to eat after dinner, I've stopped ahving the second hex's now unless I am really hungry now insead of just eating them because I'm entitled to them....

Oh well we'll see what happens...

Have a good day everyone Charl glad your feeling better and Jen hope the muscles aren't too sore this morning hugs everyone

My weight is EXACTLY the same with fluctuating and it drives me mental! It gets me down to the point where i think 'why do i even bother?' and then on weigh in day im pleasantly surprised! I really need to stop weighing in the week but this fills me with dread because i like to see how i'm getting on. Are you keeping a food diary? Theres got to be something not adding up somewhere, maybe even your body needs shaking up a bit so your plan of changing days might be a good one. Its so disheartening isnt it? Keep your chin up hun xx

Thanks honey

Like you said it's disheartening esp this time of year it makes you think aww bugger it I'll start in the New Year

I'm thinking about keeping a diary... I keep a track of what I'm eating through the day and have a syn counter I click as I have them, but a diary might be a better idea, plus less likely to cheat if it's online for the world to see ;)

Right I'm going to hide the scales now until Saturday and dig out my lemons see if they boost my weight loss a little.....

I like to WI as it does keep me motivated but it's becoming an obsession tbh, even hubs has said so....

I've never tried the lemons thing, maybe i'll give that a go! What is it, just add lemon juice to water?
I'm trying to make sure my hexB's this week are high fibre, might give me a bit of extra loss!

Am thinking of starting running. Havent run since i was at school (nearly 12 years ago!) but i've been researching it today and found this running plan:

Week 1 Run one min, walk 90 seconds. Repeat eight times. Do three times a week.
Week 2 Run two mins, walk one min. Repeat seven times. Do three times a week.
Week 3 Run three mins walk one mins. Repeat six times. Do three times a week.
Week 4 Run five mins, walk two mins. Repeat four times. Do three times a week.
Week 5 Run eight mins, walk two mins. Repeat three times. Do three times a week.
Week 6 Run 12 mins, walk one min. Repeat three times. Do three times a week.
Week 7 Run 15 mins, walk one min, Run fifteen mins. Do three times a week
Week 8 Run 30 mins continuously.

It does state that its a rough guide so i'm going to see how i get on with it. I'm sure its going to be difficult but i quite like a challenge! Not sure whether to start it asap or wait for the new year. Part of me is saying theres no time like the present! But im not sure how much running i'll do over the xmas period, although something is better than nothing.

Have you looked at the couch to 5k plan, I started that earlier in the year and found it good, you download a weekly podcast so you can listen to it as you run, music isn't my taste lol but I found it a help with the encouragement, there is a thread here for it

I did the lemon thing a few months ago and lost 3lb, they are supposed to boost your metabolism, I just had roughly a lemon a day, luckily I like lemon :) I had a slice or two in hot water, made some homemade lemonade and drank earl grey with lemon in. I ate the bits of lemon so I'm not sure if it would be the same just having lemon juice, one of the others might know.

Does extra fibre help with weight loss?

For me it helps my digestive system, its quite sensitive to fibre if you get my drift (without tmi!) so i know that if i use my hexb's for stuff thats high in fibre it'll get things moving. Carbs really block my system up, especially pasta which i LOVE. I've been better since switching to wholegrain pasta but thats why i tend to do red days not green.

Might try the lemon idea, i really love lemon so its not something i'll find difficult :)

The Couch to 5K is really similar to what i've already found but i think thats a better one because it tells you when to stop and start by the looks of it? Now here's the tricky bit...do i start it before xmas or as my new year challenge? I'm thinking if i do it from january then i can get kitted out with the right clothes etc and also wont have christmas to worry about as im sure i wont do much exercise over that time! What do you guys think?

Hey girls!

Well, you know I would definitely recommend running to anyone! I seriously had never run, was even crap at it at school so never thought I could do it. I did my first run (at 15 stone), I made my own plan up really. I walked 5mins, ran 1 min etc and just gradually built the running up. I was a wheezing wreck on my first try, that was in February. I managed to run 5k by June and ran 10k yesterday (in 1hr6mins!!). It feels amazing and am sure it's the running that has helped by weight loss way more than diet. The sense of achievement is fantastic, am extremely proud of myself. I truly believe with enough determination, anyone can start to run and it's free!!

I would say if you're thinking about it, do it now and see how you get on! You could be 2/3 weeks down your plan by Jan! You don't need special clothes etc, the only important thing is a sports bra. I ran in normal trainers, bought proper running shoes once I knew I would continue. I run in leggings (from asda) and a couple of layers. The only issue is that it's blimin freezing at the mo so is quite hard work, 1min isn't long at all tho!

Sorry, rambling now, you can tell I'm passionate about running!! I would just love to encourage and motivate anyone who is sat there thinking, "no way, I can't do that" because you REALLY can!

Evening all,
Been really good all day and then spoilt it this evening by eating two of the boys lunch bag packets of chocolate chip cookies. Feel really guilty even though I swam 20 lengths today :'(

I wish I'd stuck with it Jen I'm taking my motivation from you and once I get the all clear to exercise again I'm guessing about the end of feb I''m going to start it again, I told hubs yesterday that we'll take it in turns alternate night each to have the kids whilst the other runs, exercises... whatever they want to do...

I got my running shoes from Lidl when they had them on offer, think I paid about £14 for them, they're lightweight and they came in half sizes, which I thought was good for the price, the running socks were about £2 a pair, apart fro that the only other thing I bought was a lightweight running jacket which was about £10 in sports direct but that was purely because I was uncomfortable in anything like a fleece, (I'm on medication which means my body overheats easily when I exercise so I thought it would be more comfortable in something ventilated) I've not actually tried it out yet.

You could always set yourself a motivation target like you'll treat yourself to some running trousers or top when you can run a certain distance ;)

Oh and definately a sports bra, I've got practically nothing in that department but over the last couple of years it's all painfull even doing zumba without one..lol Primark do sports bras for under a fiver....

All this talk of exercise makes me want to get back to the gym! Not tonight though, as it closes in 5 mins and I am drop dead exhausted... Had a good day SW wise after a good and bad weekend (Kebab yesterday, don't ask me what was going through my mind haha!) and have made some orange biscuits because I had a craving to bake something Christmas-y :) They worked out at 2.5 syns each! Pretty good for home-made biscuits :) Only problem now is I want to EAT THEM ALL!

Doubt I will lose anything this week because of yesterday, but I will not let that get me down and I will keep going! Fingers crossed it doesn't snow this week... xx

You've all been so chatty today! I can't keep up!

I've been working on this stupid essay since 11am minus like 5 hours with the kids and I'm only 332 words in!! I can't believe how hard it is for me to get my jumbled thoughts on paper! I think I'm tackling this all wrong. I know I have my arguements backed up so I should probably just write then go over referencing rather than trying to do it while I'm writing. Ah god, does anyone have any essay writing tips?

Foods wise been doing EE and with the exception of a Krispy Kreme doughnut (I think I'm allowed with all the writing stress.. Ha! Sure charl) I've done good today :)

Salmon burgers sound good! I'm made a SW chicken carbonara, was canny!

Xx
