I lost 1/2lb which I'm made up about as deffo went over on my syns this week!

Here's to next week and all mine and mums healthy cooking! X
 
Does anyone have any different ideas for mince? I always stick to the same spag bog/chilli/cottage pie/burgers. Fancy something different, any ideas anyone???

Just google SW recipes with mince and see what comes up? In those free SW books there's a recipe for Moussaka if u wanted to try that?! X

Meatballs!! And if you make sticky BBQ meatballs you can eat them like a kebab in a pitta with loads of salad! nom nom

Hi Jenny

This is a really lovely SW recipe, I have made this a few times, the topping is lovely especially when it gets a slightly burnt crispy layer.

Pastitso
Serves: 6
Syns per serving: EE 1 Red 8 Green 1

Ingredients
1 medium onion
1 garlic clove
426ml/¾ pt vegetable stock
1tsp dried oregano
1 tsp ground cinnamon
454g/1lb Quorn mince/EL mince
397g/14oz can chopped tomatoes
salt and freshly ground black pepper
227g/8oz macaroni or other similar pasta
340g/12oz fat free natural fromage frais
2 medium eggs, beaten
4 level tbsp freshly grated Parmesan cheese
method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/Gas Mark 4. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic and place in a saucepan along with 142ml/¼ pt of the stock. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in the oregano, cinnamon, Quorn mince, tomatoes and remaining stock. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for a further 5 minutes. Season well.
3. Meanwhile, bring a saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil and cook the macaroni for 10-12 minutes until just tender. Drain well and mix into the Quorn mince. Pile into an ovenproof dish and place on a baking sheet.
4. Mix the fromage frais with the eggs and some seasoning and spoon over the top of the Quorn and macaroni. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and bake for 50 minutes until the topping is set and lightly golden. Stand for 10 minutes before serving accompanied by a crisp salad

That recipe sounds lovely, might give that a whirl. Not sure about the topping tho. I tried a lasagne using similar for the top but it was a kinda eggy consistency and wasn't too keen on it. Nothing like a nice white sauce hey! Thank you tho hun. Don't have any fromage frais in, could always do it without the topping, so mince and macaroni with cheese. What do you reckon?

Hey you can NEVER go wrong with meat, pasta and cheese :D I would live on pasta but have majorly cut back when started on MFP and realised just how many calories were in the portions that I had been eating, I had to get out of the frame of mind 'but pasta's the healthy option'!!!!!
 
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I'm doing it at home and have just done my first weigh in and ive lost 8lbs! I honestly cannot believe it! I burst out crying!! heehee! It really does work doesnt it!!! Im so so happy!! Yessssssss! I can do this :) xxx

I did the same with pasta, I weigh it out now, for me SW only works when I keep my cals in check too xx

Heehee thanks honey! I literally have face ache from smiling! Im alternating through smiling and giggling like a crazy person, and getting all teary and emotional!! Im just so so happy! :) I so wasnt convinced that it was going to work for me! Its just fab to have finally found a diet (sorry, lifestyle change) that actually works, and it wasnt a struggle in the slightest bit!!! Amazing amazing amazing!!!! AAAAAAAAAA!!!!! :D xxx

Thanks honey! Yeah im only doing green days so mainly live on pasta, rice and potatoes, but am making sure i dont go overboard with the calories too! And its obviously worked!!!! Yessssssssss!!! So so happy!!! :) xxx
