Electric bikes - inspiring story

They can be pricey for us heavyweights - you have to check the bike's maximum capacity! Bert got one through the bike to work scheme that makes it cheaper. I've found there's a steady stream on ebay, at bike shops (som re- sell second hand ebikes) and on an online bikers forum. So it makes sense to go and try a few at a local shop, then shop around for one second hand. My bike shop has one etrike and is getting another one in, bought by elderly people who haven't done many miles. They'll be just over half price - and are models still for sale.

The thing to check is how much it's been used so you can work out when you'll need a new battery - as they can be £250-£450 depending on the bike.

I'm thinking of an e-trike so my dog can sit in the box at the back ....with his rex specs on (fab dog goggles UVA protective! seen online but not yet bought.....)
