Food diary & Thursday weigh ins on simply filling

You're a legend Sammi! You know how to make everything, I'm so jealous! Your hubby is very very lucky ;-) x

not bread i don't, i tried making a french stick it was so heavy i cld have knocked out natalie cassidy with it ;) in the end i had a tug of war with my dog ralph with it, bearing in mind hes a staffy he had trouble wrenching even a bit off, i never used to be really bothered with cooking to much but i do actually enjoty it and tbh it takes as long to make from scratch as it does anything else & always tastes better too, i do believe the rise in cancers is partly due to all the processed foods & additives these days.

this article wont apply to you serena but anyone who loves a maccy'd's read this, it's horrible, no wonder i always feel ill after mcdonalds

Now I know why I don't eat meat or McDs ! We eat quite a bit of convenience foods but I always read the labels,it's just so much easier with the two of us. X

A little behind I know but fab news on getting into your next stone, that is brilliant! And I love that you make your own wraps, I must try this! Is wholemeal flour free on simply filling?

welll..... as ww wraps are free i decided to check out the ingredients online and they are basically flour and loads of additives with added fibre, so i decided to add in the oats as added fibre or sometimes i throw in a handful of wheat fibre instead (it's jordans brand and only 77p for a bag that seems to last for ever) so if you add the fibre then i make them free in my book and the wholemeal flour would be healthy too as ww use just white flour, but they are def best with a third of white flour too as all wholemeal can make them a bit dry, i just try and throw a handful of that wheat fibre in where i can when cooking, you can even put it in stews & currys etc or on ur cereal, it all helps shifting the lbs & the wraps are very cheap to make, just dont cook for too long as they will get hard, soon as you see them air bubbling flip them over x

really pleased to get in to the 'tens' at last, tried on a size 14 dress and it was so lovely & half price and was too big under the arms and was the sort of material you couldn't take in, no 12's either, my boobs have shrunk from a DD to a c soon to be a b i think, but im pleased as i look so much smaller in clothes now. my only problem is trying to find bras without padding now, shops think if you have sm boobs you must want to make them bigger & i dont hahaha x

That's gorgeous Sweetie :) You're going to look a million dollars in that :) Bargain too! X

I've tried that dress on and it looked lovely - though I can't keep my boobs up in a strapless bra yet so it was a no-no for the moment. I'll have to go look for bras in matalan. I love these lacewing ones from debenhams but they are all underwired and I'm just not enjoying that in this heat.

I understand about the wraps now. I'll have to have a go and just count for the flour.

Dinner sounds lovely from yesterday I was thinking the other day that I was going to ask you to remind me how you made the homemade wraps as i fancied giving it a go. Clearly i must have asked telepathically... ;)

The dress is gorgeous and I think will really really suit you. We clearly need a picture of you in it when it arrives. Bargain clothes shopping in smaller sizes - whats not to like???

i forget when i write about no pp foods like the wraps that most of you are doing pp not sf,
i will probably wear a strapped bra with that dress as when i tried it on even though top has a bit of netting, you cldn't even notice bra straps really, im not expecting it to fit straight away as the 14 fitted perfectly on the waist but too big up top, but we will see when i get it home.

i like balcony bras but they aren't always easy to find unpadded

yes i received a telepathic message about wraps and thought i must write that recipe out for atomic ;)

i did feel really nice in that dress when i tried it on, so im hoping to squeeze into it sooner rather than later, if i can get it on & done up i will post a pic, i probably wont need to wear it till aug as its a friends birthday party so hopefully will fit by then.

got up early for a man to come pick up the canoe i put on freecycle, then went to a sat lunchtime boot sale with my son toby, we got an electric kettle, coffee table, potato masher, two matching runners (carpet) one rug ( he has very light cream carpet in new flat) one heavy based steamer pan, one full length mirror, one corkscrew/opener & colander for £16
this week i have got double bed, fab hoover & cream leather sofa from freecycle for free
one of our customers donated a lovely computer desk & swivel chair
we have a freezer in our garage from another customer who was upgrading
and a microwave i put in the loft for when he leaves
were going going bootsaling again tomo to get the rest of the bits he need so we are doing pretty well so far

when we got back, i decided as his flat is all lovely and cream to paint the coffee table cream & the mirror to match, i may distress it abit tomorrow when i have time and the paint has dried

Is today a PP day? Sounds as though you're doing really well for your flat, can't believe you got all of that for £16! Just goes to show what can be done with a bit of searching! Hope u have a fab meal at the Turkish Restaurant, I'm not sure what sort of food that is as I've never had it? X

Ahhh, you gotta love car boots :) You really are doing well!

i forget when i write about no pp foods like the wraps that most of you are doing pp not sf
I'm actually core/no-counting from the old plan, but it's mostly the same, just have to count all breads. I bought some wholemeal flour so I'm going to give it a go. Thanks for that x

Went to matalan this afternoon, it's got the sales on so was a bit chaotic :) Lots of bargains to be had though!

OMG that is LOADS of goodies!! How awesome is that!! I think people are so much more aware that their old stuff can be of use to others, especially young folk. It took you no time at all to get rid of the canoe, I'm thinking someone's wife/girlfriend will be delighted when that arrived in their house!!!

i used to use freegle/freecycle alot to get rid of stuff when i have clear outs, like when i decided to get rid of all my stacks books there were piles accumilating everywhere, so when we got our kindles i decided they had to go apart from just a few, when i collected them all up there were over a hundred !! i had loads of e-mails about them, in the end they went the next day to a couple who worked at marie curie, so they were going to read a few and take the rest to the cancer shop where they worked, people want everything, even when you think its rubbish or broken, someone wants it.
i love turkey and love their food! and yes doing a pp day today x

hahahahaha yeah i bet ! hes probably still in his man cave painting his canoe now ;)

last year we got a water butt & two compost bins for our garden, im sure i got some other stuff i needed but i can't bloomin remember now! i had a broken printer and someone even came for that, my old slr camera & equipment (to a student) it's brilliant for decluttering too, it feels nice to give people something for nothing too :)

Had a lovely meal at the new turkish restaurant, really yummy, all pp are guesstimations

starter: borek- which is turkish cheese (like feta) & parsley rolled in filo pastry (fried) ate two out of the three boreks (6pp)
complimentary flat bread with humous & yoghurt & cucumber & onion (4pp)

main course: iskender kebap-which is a spicy minced lamb kebab served on a bed of diced flat bread, with a tomato sauce on top and served with thick yoghurt (only ate a quarter of the bread if that) (14pp)

turkish rice, ate only a couple of forkfulls (2)

complementary white bean stew- which is a mildly spicy tomato based stew with white beans, chilli, onions & red pepper (amazing & one of my favourites) shared with OH (3pp)

complimentary baklava (only had a tiny corner as so sweet) which is layers of filo pastry, filled in each layer with pistachios, raisens & chopped nuts the a sugar syrup is poured over after it is baked, my OH loves it but too sweet for me & thats saying something (1pp) probably wasn't even one pp but to be sure

2 x bottles of water to drink

i estimate 30pp in total if anyone thinks ive under estimated feel free to say as just not sure of pp values for any of it :)

so added with rest of todays food it totals 39pp =

26/26 pp 13wkls used tonight so that's 19/49 wkls

Hey Sweetie :) Looks like you had a fabulous evening at the new restaurant! Your pp values all look spot on, I love how u counted even the smallest forkful or mouthful! I loveeeeee Baklava, Ive tried a few in the UK but none compares to the one Ive had when Ive been away :-( Did u decide not to drink or did they not serve alcohol with it being a Turkish Restaurant? X

Meal sounds gorgeous, especially the white bean stew. Don't think you have underestimate values either, sounds about right.

I haven't really used freecycle or anything before but might give it a look. There a fair bit of stuff collecting dust in the house because it isn't needed but i don't want to throw it away. Might be worth seeing if it could be any use to anyone else.

yes they sell alchohol in turkish restaurants, i just don't drink :) x

arh good im glad i got it about right, id rather over estimate than under and the humous etc i only had a scraping of it.

yes try freegle or freecycle, its really good and people will reply the same day x

i have successfully made my first batch of wrap type things :) Wasn't intentional but OH put the bread machine on to make bread dough this morning and forgot the yeast so thought i might as well make use of the "dough". They've come out pretty well, they've got sunflower and linseeds in which I thought might be a problem but actually really impressed. I suspect i could probably try getting them a bit thinner next time but think I'm going to have one with some roast veg, pork meatballs and feta for lunch.
