Don't think I ever used the shaker but I did read on here that the hot ones explode.

I once did that when I was away with work - it just went all over the hotel room and their white sheets and quilt cover and beige carpet. I couldn't get it out. In the end I called and confessed, they were really nice and said not to worry but were worried I thought the food was so bad I was having shakes!
