From here to inskinnity! My mission to lose 13.5 stone!

Hi Bev,

Looking stunning in your new avatar! xx

Your post is inspiring! I'm 25 I have a 2yr old and an 8month old n since having them I'm really struggling with the weight I've gained. I've never been small but before having my 1st son I got down to 14st, I gained 4st in 1st pregnancy and nuthin in 2nd pregnancy but haven't shifted anything, the last 8months I've gone up and down between 17-18st. Help!

Jemima - Thanks hunny!

Colleen - Hey and welcome to minis! Thanks for your kind words. You're in the right place to get all the help and support you need to get on track and lose the weight. First of all don't beat yourself up about it, life happens sometimes, the main thing is you don't want to be that weight forever and want to change. Just take each day as it comes, jot your food down and make healthy choices. It sounds easier said than done but one you get into a routine its easier than you think. I joined SW for that initial support and motivation, having a plan to stick to has really helped me to stay on track. Plus posting my food on here and being able to rant and rave in my diary has worked wonders too. I've still got a long way to go but the best bit is that now I know I'm going to do it. I'm sure you'll feel that way too when you've got the first stone under your belt and realise it's acheiveable.

The best bit of advice I can give is just not to go extreme, for years I did stupid diets that starved myself and I just got bigger and bigger as I quit after a few days/weeks. Be sensible, eat when you're hungry and listen to your body and I know you'll do it :) Have you got a diary on here I can follow?

Just popped in to say I LOVE RUNNING!! Had the best run ever tonight and I'm buzzing about my progress so far, every week I feel so much fitter and stronger. I wish weight loss progress was this noticeable!

I'm considering signing up for my first 5km run, its called 'colour me rad' and involves loads of coloured dyes being thrown at the runners as the go round the course, sounds like loads of fun. Only downside is that its on my BIRTHDAY but think I'm just going to bit the bullet and do it! I've got just under 2 months until the 16th August and the run is at 9am so I can still enjoy the rest of my birthday and eat cake without guilt, haha!

I can't afford to sign up until pay day so I'm going to walk the course first and think about it, but I'd love to have the motivation of an event to train for! x

What better way to celebrate your birthday than by running 5k and knowing that the same time last year you wouldn't have signed up let alone finished the run. Go on Bev fill out that form and add it to the list of nsv's that is growing by the week x

Aww thanks for that Hun. You know what I'm going to do it. Like you say it'll be a great way to celebrate my progress so far and I'll have just completed c25k too. What better way to celebrate my 29th!

Ooh and yay to us August babies! :)

Yay birthday buddies!!! :)

How have you been getting on Hun? Xx

Hi Bev, sounds like things are going well here :) defo recommend signing up for an event such as the colour run, nothing like it for motivation on those days where you don't feel like getting out for a run!!

Hope you get sorted at the GPs on Mon, absolutely no fun suffering with TOTM and theres lots of things they can do to help x

Not too good weight/diet wise. Think I need to go back to basics. Been maintaining by being fairly good with a fee treats thrown in. Hubby and I were discussing and we are going to try to tone down the weekends etc and see if we can get going again. I'm not too bothered to be honest, I'd like to be slimmer but im fairly ok with how I am and i've been enjoying myself. Will do my best to get back on track though!

Yay to birthday buddies, I should have known you were a leo with that beautiful hair! I'm a few years older than you though sadly i will be 32 this time :/

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! :D

I just finished my first EVER 5k!! Yep it was on the treadmill and compared to seasoned runners it was a pretty poor time (49 mins 19s) but to say it was my last run of week TWO C24k I'm absolutely delighted! I just felt so good after the C25K podcast that I wanted to continue and finish the other 2k. By the end I was absolutely shattered but the sense of achievement is just incredible. Who'd have thought a year ago I'd be able to do 5k?!! It's absolutely staggering considering just 18 months ago I was nearly 25 stone.

As much as I love losing weight I get so much more of a sense of achievement from the exercise side of things. It's amazing to be able to run so much faster and harder than I could before. For example, when I first started before my exam I was running at 5.5km/hour and today I did the WALKING at that pace!

Would really love to see how far I could take this running, lately every day i've been waking up so excited about going for my run and the buzz afterwards has re-energized me for the rest of the day. Tomorrow though I'm having a much needed rest, it's never a great idea to exercise the day before WI anyway! Sunday though I'll be back at the gym for weigh in, kettle bells and hopefully starting week 3 of C25k! :)

The rest of my day is going to involve the cinema with Chris, we're seeing The Fault In Our Stars. I kinda have mixed emotions about it because I discovered the book years ago before it was really popular and completely fell in love with it. It was pretty much my favourite book in the whole world, and I kinda hated how popular it got and especially the idea of a movie. I just hope it stays true to the book. I'm pretty sure it'll be all awful and Hollywood and commercialised though, but we'll see!!

Day 10 - Friday 20th June - Green
Breakfast - Grapes
Snack - Chewy D - hexb
Lunch - Last night's leftovers- veggie pasta sauce (5 syns) with onions, mushrooms, peppers, pasta and cheese ( 2 x hexa)
Tea - Fruit salad - Strawbs, blueberries and cherries topped with Liberte yoghurt - 1 syn
Total - 6 syns

Exercise
30 mins walk to/from work
50 mins running/walking 5km

Well 10 days back on plan under my belt and I'm feeling great, really hope I get a loss on the scales on Sunday as I've worked really hard this week. Definitely need to get back on the red days though. Red Saturday here I come...

Pah, less of that - 32 isn't old! Life begins at 30 as they say, or is that 40?!

Well done on the maintaining, I think that's gotta be the hardest part of the process, learning how to not gain when you relax around food a bit more. It's great you've got that down now and the main thing is you feel happy with yourself. You can lose the rest at your own pace, hopefully if you and hubby try together it'll make things a bit easier, but don't feel like you HAVE to lose more weight if you're happy as you are. xxx

Well done on the 5k! And I love the fault in our stars too. Been watching the vlogbrothers videos on YouTube for years so went through the release of paper towns and then was there right the way through the writing of TFiOS. Hoping to see the film next week and will probably end up crying.

Well done on the 5k. Enjoy the cinema. I've not read the book yet. I hate it when films are no where near as good as the books xx
