From all the lists on here I've done a big shop & got lots of fruit/veg.

What I want to know is can it be kept outside (in bags) or is it way too cold to do so?

H bought loads at the markets as it's a lot cheaper but you end up with so much.

What types are you talking about - I think it should be okay as long as they do not get wet

I would suggest that they would get frost bite, especially the fruit, it's going to go to minus something tonight and if it's that cold it would be like putting it in the freezer.

What about a shed/garage - that would be cold but not frozen - just a thought.

Another thought, maybe put the fruit/veg in a box covered with blanket/newspaper - to insulate it from the frost.

I'd first try one of each overnight and see how it goes, that way if it does spoil you've only lost 1 of each and not the whole lot!? Good luck and happy eating! x

root veg you can store outside in a bucket / box full of sand..
    stops them shriveling too..
sprouts actually benefit from having a bit of frost in them.. makes them more tender apparently..

you could stick it in the loft.. cool but not freezing..
