Giving in to pressure from our size-ist society?

Well done!

2 stone in 6 weeks is fantastic!

They either truely see you (which is great) or they are jealous/nervous about drawing attention to it/unsure of your reaction if they do/waiting until you've lost more to say.

It could be worse; loads of people didn't comment on mine for ages & then only made stupid comments... I saw a friend after I'd lost 3 stone and I was wearing size 12 jeans for the first time, she spent quite a lot of the evening squeezing my knees and going "You've got knees" loudly which was irritating, embarrassing & fairly painful. I've always had knees and when they're bonier it hurts when someone grabs them...

I have lost 5 stone and none of my work colleagues or pupils have ever said anything to me. I still have about 3 to go but I look normal. it astounds me really but saying that it wasn't until recently that I actually had the 'you've lost a lot of weight' conversation with my husband and I've been dieting since January 2006!!!

isn't it funny how people don't really notice, or say they don't notice. I actually asked a friend straight out whether she noticed and she said she didn't and said that it's because she's used to seeing me as a person and never worries or even thinks about my size. what was really weird is that she then wanted to have a really good look and said it was so clear how much had come off my face. and when I put on my jeans I had to wear a month ago and she saw how she could fit in them with me she was aghast.

weird, but hey, it's for us isn't it, not for anyone else!
