Greeneyes will PERSEVERE.........

Thanks for your replies KD.... I definately feel a bit better now. I guess you are totally correct about the scales, I liked being in the 9 stone somethings, even if it was 9 stone 13, and being in the 10s isn't quite the same, but I guess it is all in my head. Even if I had put on the 3lb in weight it probably wouldn't show anywhere in particular and so that is just in my head too... I feel fatter, but my clothes probably do fit the same, so probably yet again, in my head. I will up my calories to 1500 over the next few days and see what happens. Maybe next week everyone who hasn't lost weight this week will find it just falls off when the weather changes. I went to give blood last week and for the second time running they wont take it (18 months apart, first time when I was fat, this time now I am slimmer) and my count has gone down even lower, so that could be why I am not feeling as energetic as usual.... need to kick myself up the bum to move more, because if I do some exercise it will make me feel more energetic... lol

Thanks once again KD.... you are our knight in shining armour when we are struggling with ourselves and you help to put things into perspective. Thanks for taking time out of your hectic day to answer my ramblings. Take care xx

Cross posted with you about the pill..... I am 45 and my nan and aunt didn't hit menopause until at least 54 (my mum had a hysterectomy at 32) so not likely hitting that yet... and I already have 3 grandchildren.... lol.. very nearly 4, number 4 due on 1st October.... my eldest is 10 years, my second eldest is only 12 day older than my youngest... lol and the third is just over a year!!
Will give this pill a try for the 3 months that I have and see if my weight stabilises, if it continues to go up when I feel it is not deserved, then I will ask the doctor for yet another one...

Thanks once again KD.... you're a star!!

Absolutely ;) Of course, if you plan to walk around town with a placard saying "I am 9 stone 13lbs " then it's good to be under 10 stone. :D

Oh goodness! Cool though.

No probs. Know it was long and drawn out (that's my style :D).

I do understand how worrying it can be, especially when you make amends for added calories and nothing happens. It's scary and something that only we can understand isn't it.

My theory is that I eat the right amount of cals (roughly) to prevent fat gain, and I interpret the scales correctly to prevent insanity :D

Linda just wanted to say your doing brilliantly sorry your having a tough time at the mo but stick with it and im sure everything KD said is true and makes so much sense to you as to everyone else xxxx

Woohoo, after taking heed of KDs advice yesterday and feeling much better in myself, also taking three hours clearing out my wardrobe last night (it is a big walk in wardrobe and doesn't only have clothes..) I upped my calories, but wrote down what I had eaten to keep track and this morning when I got on the scales I weighed 9 stone 13lb.... woohoo, that elusive weight just turned up when least expected.... lol.
Thanks so much KD for making me feel better and giving some excellent advice.

Hi Greeneyes,

Glad to see you feeling a bit more positive.
Maintenance I think has always been said to be the hardest part and you are certainly working hard at it, and it is paying dividends, keep going hun as it is paying off for you.
When I eventually get there I'll be asking you lots of questions no doubt...could be a while yet with my bumps in the road recently, but I feel like I'm getting there, slowly!
xx

Weight is going well, still 9 stone 13 this morning on the scales which started well, but went downhill from there. A knock on the door early from a kindly motorist who told us our cat had been run over and he had scooped it out of the road... on closer inspection it was definately our cat, he had spent the night on my 6 year olds bed and had then been let out this morning before breakfast. The main road is not even outside of our house, we live in a cul de sac, so not even sure what he was doing near the main road especially that close to breakfast time... so day started very badly. Secondly took my engagement ring to be fixed as a diamond had fallen out, on closer inspection, not only did the diamond and claw need replacing but 4 others need replacing as they are all worn and the diamonds could fall out at any time, but if I wanted it to look right then I needed all the claws replaced so they would all look the same, so goodness knows how much that would cost and it will now be gone for at least 2 or 3 weeks... Daughter got her GCSE results and didn't quite get the grades she needed for the course she wants to do at college, but they have said to take her grades in and they may be able to offer her a place on the course but at the next level down. Fingers crossed. Am really tired too, so will be off to bed soon and hopefully the day will be better tomorrow... oh yeah I also caved and ate an apricot muffin this afternoon, was feeling so down and I know I shouldn't have... oh well tomorrow is another day.

Oh Greeneyes. What an awful day. I'm so so so sorry to hear about your cat. That's tragic. I know what special creatures they are. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Also sorry to hear about your daughter's results. Will keep my fingers crossed for her and bummer about the ring as well. At least you didn't lose any of the diamonds so maybe you can keep them and give them to your kids or something??

Hope tomorrow is a better one for you.

Chin up Greeneyes. That's some day... the poor cat... and hard for your daughter too. I hope she can get a course that suits her...
Big hugs.

Hi Linda, So sorry to hear about the kitty, hope our kids are not too upset...i know my kids would be devastated if anything happens to ours. Good luck to your daughter, will keep my fingers crossed for her, results day can be such a bummer, but well done to her for trying!

Hope you have a better day today hun!
Wishing a good weekend!!

xx

Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't been around, a couple of reasons, although I have been lurking occasionally when I have had the time.
Anyway, Bank Holiday Monday was our 10th Wedding Anniversary, and when me and hubby exchanged cards after we woke up, he presented me with a night in a 5* hotel in Mayfair and a trip to the theatre and anything else I wanted to do during Monday and Tuesday. My very pregnant daughter had said she would look after the children over night so we could go away..... woohoo!!! Unfortunately I have my shopping delivered on a Monday and had asked hubby if I should change it to Tuesday last week but he said no, obviously knowing we wouldn't be there on Tuesday. So after the shopping had arrived and around 10.30am, we set off to London. Wow the hotel was The Metropolitan, next door to The Hilton and hosts the bar that all the celebrities fall drunk out of.... lol We arrived an hour early, but they said there would be no problem checking in early and they even upgraded our room to a £650 a night room as it was our anniversary.... lol The room was amazing, the bed was absolutey enormous and you got all the toiletries you needed thrown in, plus slippers and a bathrobe. We had Bose Speakers for the Ipod, a TV with albums, films and normal channels on it, an umbrella incase it was raining when we went out.... it was heaven. We popped along the road to Harrods and got ourselves a lunch that we could eat in Hyde Park (I had smoked salmon bagel and cream cheese) we shared a big plate of sushi and had these amazing little cakes from Harrods Patisserie, mine was a Berry Pavlova, with the most gorgeous sweet berries on top of the cream.... yes you have guessed it, watching my calorie intake flew out the window. Later that evening we ate out at a Theatre Restaurant, I had a big bowl of mussels in garlic and shallot butter, a Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail and chicken coated in parma ham and cheese sat upon creamed potato.... we were too full for dessert. We went to see Lady In Black at the theatre and then afterwards I fancied a hot chocolate, so we walked back to Leicester Square where we found a Hagen Daas Cafe.... they have a small book menu with things you can have in it. I settled for 4 small glasses, one had cherry and cream icecream with black cherries in the base, the next had mango sorbet with mango and chocolate brownie in the base, another had raspberry sorbet with rasberries and chocolate brownie and the last had fresh strawberries with strawberries and cream ice cream...... we did walk about a mile back to our hotel afterwards.... lol
The next day we went around the beadshops in London as I am getting back into jewellery making and visited Fortnum and Mason where we bought some yummy biscuits for us and a tin for my daughter for babysitting. We also had our photo taken at one of those places where you dress up, I wanted to dress up as a gangster or Wild west and we settled for Wild West and have some great Sepia photos of us as a reminder of our 10th Wedding Anniversary.
Oh yes forgot to tell you about the breakfast at the hotel, we had room service for breakfast as we had never had room service before and had our breakfast delivered on this cool table on wheels. I had a bowl of fresh fruit, mixed toast with Jam and Acacia honey, then little pastries (pain au chocolat, mini croissants and these little pastries filled with custard) and then we had a cooked breakfast, sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding)... I was so stuffed I couldn't eat anything all day and didn't really want our chinese buffet that we had for dinner. Needless to say I put on 5lb over these 2 days.... lol and it was coming off nicely without too much effort, but we went out for the day visiting another church for a fun day and they supplied lunch which was a third of a baguette filled with salami, cheese, mayonnaise and salad and this made me put all the weight I had lost back on again.... needless to say I am back to trying to lose the weight again this week.... so that is why I have not been around lately, plus getting the children ready to go back to school and trying to sort out transport for daughter who starts college tomorrow. Finally sorted that today but it cost £196...eeeek for a term....
Anyway, I will try and catch up with the diaries and leave some comments tomorrow....
