Hi everyone, I'm starting the CWP on Saturday and I'm excited/nervous. Has anyone got any hints, tips, ways to beat the hunger??? I realise everyone is different but I just want some kind of idea of what to expect. I'm not starting this week s I'm on half term and will find it too difficult serving meals 3 times a day to husband and children, oh, and dog! I have about 4 stone to lose and I've tried weight watchers before, it did work but but it was painfully slow and I had t greatly reduce carbs t get any kind of result, even when I exercised 5 times a week for an hour a time!

Thanks in advance x x

Hi

I'm on day 3.. 4 stone to lose too! I'm in a similar situation to you too I think. We have 3 children and a new puppy so food is around all the time! I've found the diet ok..actually, pretty easy to be honest! For me I'm finding SS+ better for me as I want to eat a little something too. It's only 200 cals but it's lovely to eat something.
Yes I want to eat all the yummy goodies my family are eating but I'm fed up of being tubby.. thats motivation enough for me. I think on this diet if you cheat you'll come out of ketosis which could delay your weight loss by a few days where as it was easier to have a day off on WW or Slimming World. I may be wrong but that's what I think will happen.
I'm coping by drinking lots of water and looking at clothes I'd like to fit into online for the summer!
Good luck x

Hi Willow, thanks for replying. I'm meeting my councillor on Thu and I think I'm going to start Friday, that way I'll be on it over the weekend and be able to hide my smelly breath easier! Did you or are you finding you had bad breath? Im quite prepared to take toothbrush and paste to work! My inspiration is definitely just looking at my reflection and feeling my clothes bursting at the seams. I love sparkling water and the value stuff is pennies so I'll be ok with that, I can easily drink 2 litres a day. I'll be taking the dog for a walk when my family are eating their tea cos I'm going to find that hard. I'm also thinking of eating all my meals later in the day, I'm rarely hungry at breakfast time so I might postpone my er, 'food!'... Thanks, good luck x

Hi

My councillor said I could chew some
Sugar free gum for a few mins then spit it out to freshen my breath which I've found helpful. My breath is ok ( in my opinion) its a bit like when you're hungry nothing too pongy!
I've bought a water filter and have been filling bottles to down which is ok for me. I'm mostly buying soups and shakes as I personally didn't like the porridges. I find them easier to have at work in my shaker thingy I bought from my councillor. I'm not telling many people I'm doing CD as I want to keep it private and look forward to comments on how I'm losing weight!
We are going to my lliverpool in laws on Monday so I'm trying to think of what I can say or do when they all scoff their greasy Chinese meal!
Enjoy your week

No I'm not telling my colleagues either, my husband and best friend know, that's it. Have a good week. Probably split soon. Good luck avoiding the Chinese, you could always go for a walk so you font have to watch them eat? That's going to be hard, we go to my dads once a week but I'll have to miss out :-(

I'm starting SS on monday and am looking forward to it but know the first few days are going to be hard, good to know i'm not going to be alone in my journey :)

Hi
Honestly it's not as hard as you think. We'll be here for you.. and each other x

Thanks, in my head the harder I think it'll be the better because if it's not as hard i'm already mentally prepared (weird logic but it's how my brain works lol)

No you won't be missing out.. We're rewarding ourselves by losing weight ( that's what I'm saying to myself)

Me too, my reward is getting into size 8 jeans by Christmas and smiling when I look in the mirror instead of sighing. I want to wear a bikini and not be worried about people staring at me because i'm overweight and know that they're staring because I look good :)

I've been doing 'low' carbs on and off for a couple of months so I know how it feels to be hungry, hunger I can deal with, greed I struggle!!! Thank you, this forum is going to be a god send.

You're so right.. I'm better at dealing with hunger than stopping myself scoffing when I'm not on a diet! When I'm watching what i eat I crave for carbs, fat and sugar but they always taste better in my mind to what they actually taste like when I get to eat them again. Do you know what I mean? I ate every take away and naughty food stuff I could before I went on CD.. I felt awful. I can honestly say I feel really healthy at the mo. (day 3)

I'm so glad to hear that your on day 3 and feel good, I hope I have the same experience

Day 2 was tough.. I had paracetamol and drank lots. I think I went into ketosis that day I think ( fingers crossed)

Fingers crossed for you too, sounds like you're definately over the worst :cross:

Do you buy your own ketosticks? Where's the best place to get them?

My CDC gave me a few but I haven't used them. You know when you've crossed the bridge into ketosis.. It's the day after you felt a bit teary and tired. I think you can get them online or maybe large pharmacy stores?

I did atkins a few years ago and the ketostix are really unrelaible, especially as with CD you need to drink sooo much water, it dilutes the keytones in the urine so you can be in full blown ketosis and not see any change on the stick, I think that's the main reason I stopped atkins....never felt like I was getting anywhere
