Help - points for homemade food!!

Hi there, was wondering if anyone had any advice for pointing up homemade dishes? I am trying to follow WW without the classes!

We eat alot of homemade curries and would love the best way to point them, is it as simple as taking the individual items, and using the cooked point values? So pork tenderloin+mushrooms+onions+tbsp oil+rice??

I work out the points for each indiviudal item and then just add them all together and divide it by how ever many portions you are splitting it into xx
