Extra Easy Help with Syns....

Hi Guys.. Just looking for a little advice, sorry if there is already a thread like this!

I started SW on monday and im hoping to loose 3st overall.. Anyway im writing everything i eat down but so far ive only had 1 syn. Sunday im going to Alton Towers so there will be a few syns piling up there! But it will be no way near the 15 a day i am allowed... Is it going to hinder my weight loss if i dont have many Syns? Im not trying to avoid them on purpose im just eating so much free and super free foods theres no room for anything else! :8855: Thankyou :)

welcome to the forum and SW,

your syns are just as important as the other stuff, you could try using them up on spread for your hexb, mayo, tom sauce, it doesn't have to be crisps/chocolate/wine etc, just try and have at least 5 a day.

Personally I need the syns to keep me on the straight & narrow but there's a lady in my group who joined same day as me and never has her syns or HEXs and has lost 3 - 4 lb every day (20lb in 7 wks) so don't worry & see what happens on WI day.

Ahh thats thrown a spanner in the works lol... I dont really want to FORCE myself to have syns so i might wait until my next weigh in and if its not as good i was hoping i'll tweak things a little :) thanks guys x

The plan is 5-15 syns a day, so if you want to stick to plan 100% then you should have your syns :) A little of what you fancy does you good! :D

I found it tricky to use syns at first, as I didn't really want to use them on snacks, but I soon worked out a routine that works for me - I tend to use them mainly on additions to meals, like extra cheese, olive oil, more breakfast cereal, avocado etc. But no reason why you can't spend them on choccies etc. if that works for you!

Personally I use a few syns during the day (tomato ketchup, nutella etc) but the majority I have in the evening. This is the time of day I struggle the most. So, to celebrate being good every day I have a treat of a small chocolate bar and an alcoholic drink every evening whilst watching tv xx

Just remember, if your weight loss slows down, if you've used syns, you've something you can reduce. Also, if you go away/go out, you'll probably need to use some syns, and if your body's not used to it, it might hinder weight loss. Good luck

You can try weekly syns, I don't think too many people in here do it but every single person in my group did and had terrific losses!

I was thinking about the weekly syn things myself. I honestly feel like i dont NEED the syns but i know it will slow down the weight loss if i dont include them. When i think of syns the only thing i think of is chocolate and crisps but i need to start finding ways to incorperate them into my meals :) think i'll start with cheese lol

good plan, I must say at the minute I've been overdoing it with healthy extras whoops so that could be something I should be using as syns too
