Herbs from a jar V's Home grown Herbs

I've tried that and found I just killed them off! I don't use a lot of fresh herbs - just rosemary in a sausage risotto really. Even in the dried herbs it tends to be blends of several herbs rather than single ones.

I'm growing my own chillis, which are doing really well, and some herbs which aren't. I think i'm gonna get the ones that have already been grown in the supermarket & just plant them. I use coriander, mint, basil, chives, rosemary, thyme & oregano alot so worth it for me.

I MUCH prefer fresh herbs....although don't always use them due to prices etc.
I've planted up supermarket ones before and some do ok (like mint and rosemary) but others (like basil and coriander) don't tend to last that long. I've also grown them from scratch and had mixed results....the hardier herbs cope will, but more delicate ones not so well. I generally tend to use the supermarket bought ones now, they last about a month and then I replace them.
Fresh def adds more flavour to dishes though. good luck with whatever you go with!
