I dont know i tried WW and slimfast and the apple diet but nothing worked so i dont know, Im going to see my doctor tomorrow to see what he says, Because at the mo im wasteing 41 euro a month on the gym :(

Thanks but knowing how my weight keeps going it'll be back on tomorrow. In october i lost 1 stone 9lbs, within a week it was back on and double :(

Hi Moonpig,

your thread really struck a cord with me. I am new on here but certainly not new to serial dieting. Since the age of twelve I have yo yo'd up and down being really proud with myself for losing a bit of weight and then putting it all back on again and then some.

I've done WW, CD, LL, SW Cabbage soup, apple, grapefruit etc.... the best losses had were with SW and LL. However as I now have a 2 year old I dont want to do very low cal diets/food replacements anymore as I dont want to risk giving my girls any of the weight problems I have so I am back on Slimming World.
I think the best thing is to try and start this journey a bit more positively...dont set out believing you will fail have more confidence in yourself and use this forum to pick you up and help you reach your goal.

We have about the same amount of weight to lose so maybe we can gee eachother on???

Hi Firefly thanks for your reply, i think thats a great idea and im up for it.

My doctor took bloods today as i have a few signs of underactive thyroid but i had them before and it turned out to be nothing. I cant afford to do LT or CD so ive opted to try slimfast again but do it properly this time, so im going to try it for a week if i see a result ill carry on or ill quit smoking and try LT.

Im really syked this time ive never felt like this but im so unhappy

Well goodluck and keep checking in on this. I totally get the being unhappy thang this has been my demon for about sixteen years now I was so young when I started to realise I was overweight and the more times I failed the worse I ate and then the harder it all became. I now know I am never goingt o be skinny but I do want to be healthy for my kids. AND I want to feel sociable again- I used to be so out going and fun and now I think I'm a bit of a bore.

So I'm totally up for trying to help raise your spirits in anyway that I can! As I am finally in a frame of mind where I think I might get this weight off (I dont think it will be easy though)
I have been at slimming world four weeks first week lost 6lbs second lost 2 1/2lbs third week put on 1/2lb so hoping that weigh in tonight will be a good one even though it has been easter and my birthday this week!
