Hey guys from a Cardiff Newbie :)

Hey guys, new to the forum and joining Slimming World on Thursday evening. Decided that enough was enough and will power alone will not help, especially with a boyfriend who likes to treat me to yummy food. So, eventually going to join SW and using social networking to help spur me on. I do not agree with yo-yo diets and think that people need to lose weight for themselves, not for society....sooo here goes!!

Here to get support, give support, share ideas and have a laugh......hope all is good with you guys today.

Peace & Love,

Miss Lilybet (Liz) :)

Hey, I'm doing slimming world also and just joined this site today :/ not quite sure yet how to use it but anyways............ GOOD LUCK X

Lyndsey:)

Good luck Lyndsey, have you ever done slimming world before? I join on thursday coming... x

I joined a SW class in October last year and really enjoyed it. I found it really easy to follow too. But the Christmas came and I lost a bit of motivation so have been bitting and bobbing since then. I am following the diet at the minute but not going to the classes. So today is the day that I am going to re-focus and hopefully be a skinnier me!!

Hi Liz,

I joined the forum today too, I'm in North Wales! I rejoined Slimming World last Wednesday, got my first weigh in tomorrow. I've tried to follow the SW plan on my own as I've done it before but can't stick to it, I'm hoping that by going to class and getting weighed every week I'll manage to stay on track. Good Luck!

Hi Nicky, hope your first weigh in goes well!! Im just ridding my cupboard of all temptation over next two days!! with gorging housemates its gonna be hard to escape the things that count as syns !!!

Hi Liz,

How's it going? Thanks for your reply. Managed to lose 3.5lb this week despite having an extremely flexible syns day on Sunday at a birthday barbecue :D Mostly vodka!

have a nice weekend,

Nicky x

Well im on my second full day and off out tonight. Jd is my poison so gonna have to be careful but that asides the extra easy is extra easy. I pretty much eat most of the super free and free things together anyhow and Just goto watch the bread and milk intake. Wonder how much ill lose in one week hmmm? I refuse to own scales as i shall become obsessed. How's this week going? Any bbqs planned to sway u? x

Going ok so far thanks, I'm finding extra easy great, as like you I mostly eat the free and superfree stuff together anyway but alcohol is definitely my downfall, sounds bad lol, I'm not a binge drinker but most of our socialising seems to involve eating out and going to the pub! Wine is my tipple of choice but with a glass being 8-9 syns it's deadly, so I've swapped to long drinks of vodka with lots of ice and diet lemonade and save up my sins so I can have a drink at the weekend.

My partner's a butcher so we tend to eat well! I cook most things from scratch anyway and have found lots of nice SW recipes. I cooked a spicy chicken and sausage hotpot last night which was lovely. I'm missing bread too (another downfall) though.

Know what you mean about the scales, I am obsessive and weigh myself every morning although mine are weird and the weight shown can vary by up to 4lb depending on how I stand on them (I've got it down to a fine art, by standing on the front and leaning precariously forward I can achieve an apparent 4lb loss-which is pretty sad as I'm the only one looking or caring-how deluded am I?!!)

Going to a Christening tomorrow, I haven't been to one for years, it's a relative of Steve's (OH), no idea if there'll be any diet-friendly food afterwards but if not it'll just be damage limitation and then back on track on Monday. Are you up to much this weekend?
