Net carbs for something?

Is it net carbs that we go by?

I am looking at a bar of atkins choc chip crisp day break..
Says on the front only 2.1 net carbs

at the back per bar :

carbs 8.5
of which sugars : 0.4
polyols: 6.4
glycerine: 2.8

diatry fibre : 6

How do you work it out?

Total carbs minus polyols. xx

Or to be easy total carbs minus fibre content. Example from nutrition label;carbs 8.5g, fibre 6g, leaves 2.5g net carbs. You only count net carbs. Sorry for butting in.

That's only on US products though, the British ones already have the fibre taken out of the carb count.

Jim is correct. Most of the atkins bars are produced in holland, as far as i know its only US products that include fibre in the total carbs.

Jim - do you think we could get a sticky about fibre somewhere? Im answering this one question at least 3 times a week. xx
