How long to drop a dress size?

I think it depends a lot on how much you have to lose, I found that the more I had to lose the more it took me to lose a dress size. Also depends on how your current clothes fit too I think.
I'm squeezed into size 20s that have a lot of stretch in them so I'd say it'll take me at least 2stone to get into a proper 18 whereas you might be a lot smaller and your clothes might fit better so it may only take 10lbs x x
 
Agree with happybunny it totally depends on how much you have to lose and your current size. I lost 3st10lbs and only went from an 18 to a loose 16 :(, however my mum only had to lose a stone to go from a 14 to a 10/12.

Good luck I'm sure if you stick to it that dress will be yours ;) x

Flipping heck jewel that's awesome :) like I said in pp I lost nearly 4 stone last year and only dropped one proper dress size- everyone said I looked a lot slimmer yet it was still only 1 size! Hopefully getting to the next one won't take quite so much weight loss lol x

Reeeeally hope to be a size down by Christmas but I'm not going to over think it, I think that's been my problem in the past. I'm going to go by the different "stones" like when I weigh next Sunday I should see the next stone bracket down and so on.
 
I think it all depends how toned you are aswell as after 2 kids I've got the big mummy jelly belly muffin top so find it takes me a long time to drop a size especially on the bottom. Like lucy last summer I dropped 3st from 14st to 11st and only went from a 16 to a 14 in jeans :(.

This year i started back at 14st and a size 16 jeans and now after dropping 1st I'm feeling no difference so think I will need to loss at least another 1-1.5st to get back into my 14's so I think how much loose fat you have to loss makes a huge difference.

They do say you should drop a size with every 10lbs lost but I think that's only if your already fairly toned (so not me :() x

I think height is a factor too, I find that taller people seem to take longer to drop sizes than shorter people. I'm only 5ft tall x
 
Yep jewels right I'm 5'7 and if I drop a stone is does nothing for me in the clothes department. It's only when I drop two stones that I see. Difference!

Basically for me this is how it works 16.5stones I'm a size 16 , when im 14.5 stones I'm size 14 and so forth it's unusual but that's how it works for me.

So currently I'm 15.10 and still a size 16 can't wait to get to size 14 again, however I've been rubbish as of late ad so I think it will deffo take me longer that I anticipated.

But if you stuck at it I'm sure you'll ft into your dress before Xmas! Good luck x
 
I had 28 lb to lose and it took 20lb of that before I dropped from size 14 to 12 at the bottom and 14lb to drop from 16 to 12 at top. Then only another 4lb to drop another size at bottom to 10 but I'm still a 12 at top. Unfortunately I carry all my weight on belly and boobs, proper apple me. X
 
Am short 5ft 2 took me till I was 9st 10 ish to drop to a big 10 and to 9 and a 1/2 stone to fit any 10 I picked up am 8st 9 fit any size 8 I have size 8 jeans that are now big although they are a very generous 8.. it depends on shops too some of the sizing in certain shops are really generous others not so much.. it's taken a loss of 2 stone to drop 2 dress sizes err maybee 2 and a 1/2? :p

That's interesting fatty girl cause I'm 5ft7 aswell but as of today I'm exactly 13 stone dead and I'm a 16 on the bottom and 18 on the top :(

To drop a size and get into a 16 top and 14 bottom I have to get down to 11st7 (my goal weight) so im assuming it must all be to do with my mummy tummy as my o/h always tells me i carry all my weight round the middle and it must be true if i am 13st and a size 16 yet you were 16.5st and a 16??

I think I will need to start doing some tummy toning exercises x

Hiya luv, it's always been that way for me, I've got a big bust and bottom but my waist is smaller compared to the rest of me. I guess I'm relatively lucky because I'm kinda even everywhere and my stomach on a Good day is relatively flat....Lol
So I can wear 16's without a problem most days.

I would so love to be your weight right now and in all honesty Hun you've only got a stone and a half to go which I'm sure you will get to in good time because your committed. It will be interesting to compare our body shape and weights when we reach our target.

I don't really have a target but anything below 13 stones would make me very happy! :0) il change my profile pic so you can see what I look like well it's when I was around 16.7 stones xx

Awwww thanks Chubbymummy83, I guess I am pretty lucky that I don't actually look like how much I actually weigh....lol but I am actually sooooo heavy the blooming scales tell me it all the time and I own about 50 pairs of jeans and I can only wear about 4 of them....lol it's awful!!

Hoping to get pregnant soon that's my main reason for losing weight because I have Polycistic ovarian syndrome which can sometimes be helped by losing weight and kick start fertility! So I'm really keen to get this weight off also id love to look frickin' fantastic..lol xx

Fatty girl you look stunning, if I looked like you I wouldn't be dieting at all I just look like a burst sausage with lumps and bumps everywhere!! lol, god I didn't even look like that when I was my lowest weight of 10.13 never mind 16st :(

We are dieting with the same goal in mind as I was told years ago I would never conceive naturally, I joined ww and dropped from 14st to 11st and within 2wks of getting to my goal weight I found out I as pregnant with my son. Now 3yrs on I have been told the very same thing again so I'm back trying to get the weight off hoping it brings me another miracle ;) x

Your too funny Tracey!....Lol I have no babies yet but I'm hopeful that it will happen soon! My doctor isn't really helpful all he keeps banging on about is me needing to lose weight!!! It's a little frustrating but I'm gonna give it a good shot and hopefully il get my little miracle.

I haven't really been great over the last couple of days with drinking water and sticking to the diet, don't know why but I really need to get back in the zone. It's 5 weeks on Thursday and I'm 16lbs down not in ketosis anymore and feeling kinda crap. I'm starting again on Thursday properly will weigh myself and see if I've put anything on, so not sure what the damage is but just hoping it ain't too bad.

Starting Thursday again because tomorrow is a planned day off with my boyfriend movie and a meal, hoping wont go mad, and I've got a couple of days off work to get back in the zone.

How are you doing Hun?? X
