how to make perfect poached egg?

I use vinegar and water - will try the clingfilm method tomorrow.xx:D

I put them in a ladle then lower them into my pan simmer for 3 mins! Perfect :)

Whenever I've used the swirly water method the egg breaks up. I normally just get water to rolling boil, crack egg in and leave for 3 mins for runny yolk or 4 mins for slightly runny yolk!

I have the poach pods too, but saw the clingfilm method on tv. Haven't tried it yet. I'd fancy using the pods in the MW tho. Do you have to prick the yolks?

Tried the clingfilm method this morning wasn't that great so think I will stick to water and vinegar xx

There's an episode of 'how to cook like Heston' on 4od on eggs. He talks about how to make the perfect poached egg. It's worth watching but I'm not sure I'd actually cook that way...
