It definitely has. It's just what I needed, as I was getting a little fed up.
 
Aaaaaargh yesterday was so horrible! :cry:

I was out shopping with friends (miserable in itself because I refuse to buy any clothes at the moment) and then we went to a restaurant to have lunch... They sat there with their big yummy-smelling meals and I ordered a tea and got my chewy malt toffee bar out. Meh!

Then last night I went out clubbing with friends... EVERYONE kept asking why I wasn't drinking and telling me to have a drink - it was so annoying!

Really proud of myself for staying strong but OMG this diet really isn't very social...
 
Congrats on staying strong tho! That is such an achievement! I've just arrived at the pub to meet a friend. Think I'll be in the same predicament.

Thank you and good luck to you too! It wouldn't be so bad if we could at least order a diet coke or a juice or something... But being out and ordering water is just weird! It will all be worth it in the end though I guess... Just got to keep telling ourselves that! Have a nice afternoon with your friend x
 
So I've just tried the toffee and walnut shake... It was ok but not great. Although a million times better than the disgusting butterscotch one I had the other day!

From reading everyone's posts, I think I'm in the minority by saying I'm not really a fan of the shakes...? The ready-made ones have grown on me but the make yourself ones I'm not really liking so far... I much prefer the porridge, bars and soups.

Oh well... I guess its all a learning curve hey? At least going into week 3 next week I'll have know the things I like and can stick to them. Porridge for breakfast, a bar for lunch and soup for dinner. Maybe get a few ready made shakes for if I'm going to be out at a meal time...
 
Slipped up yesterday evening and ate an egg white! I was sooooooooooooo hungry. As far as cheats go, I guess it wasn't too bad and it was my first in almost in 2 weeks but I was upset with myself afterwards... Back on track today and looking forward to my weigh in on Wednesday - really hope I've had a good loss!

My friend said she thinks my stomach looks slimmer lol... I don't know if she's just being nice but I hope so!
 
Hi girl on a mission! I've just noticed your post about the shakes, I bought a kenwood smoothie2go it's ace and I blend my shakes with a hand full of Ice, tastes lovely, the shakes are my favourite especially choc mint.

If it makes you feel any better I've had the odd egg too x
 
Morning :) Just popping by to see how you're doing. Well done on your fab 6lb loss, that's brilliant :) and WELL DONE for abstaining whilst out with friends, socialising is incredibly difficult on this diet, i dont think unless you're on it how difficult saying no actually is so well done you. As for the egg white it's proten only in eggs so won't kick you out of ketosis so good choice of food.

How are you finding the second week? I personally found that more difficult than the first, found i was a lot hungrier and actual physical hunger with tummy gurgles too. What day is your weigh in? Hope the rest of your shakes/bars etc are yummy. Sometimes for the strong flavours try adding more water or ice cubes, makesa big difference to flavour xx
 
well done! i started same time as you and i lost 5.7 lbs - 30 at end of august and i will totally reach my goal weight of 59kg if this keeps up. also, i was on my period this week - does that affect your weight-loss?
 
Awww thank you so much Nina! My second week has been up and down - some days I'm like "yeah this easy, I can do it" and then others (like the egg day lol) I think it has got harder and I'm reeeeally hungry! Pleased I've stuck with it though - I really am on a mission and I HAVE to lose this weight before I go on holiday in November and my 30th in January! The socialising bit is really difficult but luckily Ramadan starts here in a couple of weeks so the majority of the population won't be eating during the day or drinking alcohol either so I won't feel left out lol! Thanks for the shake tips - my WI is tomorrow so looking forward to picking up my food supplies for the week. You're doing amazingly well with your loss so far - are you on SS?

Mush Machine, you could be my weight loss twin lol - it was my TOTM this week too. It can affect your weight loss but I'm not sure by how much... I'm sure your body catches up though and if it doesn't show a loss this week, it should do next week. How are you finding your first 2 weeks? :)
 
Must be something in the air i was TOTM too haha. I wonder if it was a full moon. Wow that'll be much easier for you when Rammadam starts although i dont know how people can go all day without anything, suppose it's good if you work nights :) Nope im on 1200 plan coz of medication so weight losses are slower than others but it's coming off well and that's all that matters :)

Oh if you have any choc tetras theyre nice put in the freezer for 20mins too, someone suggested getting lolly holders and emptying a tetra into one of them and having proper chocolate ice lollies, havent tried that yet for 2 reasons 1 its too cold still and 2 my lil girl would want to eat them.

I think this diet is a rollercoaster of emotions, like you've said you'll have easy days and then struggler days but its great that you're making wise food choices early on as thats what you'll have to do in the long term. I would say if you stick with it you'll be slim before your birthday as CD averages 1 stone a month loss!!! I'm hoping to be down another 3 possibly 4 stone by end of December then i'll have 3 months to lose the remaining weight :)

How are you managing with the water? The water flavourings are very nice and actually cheaper than from Tesco etc xx
 
Definitely - so long as its coming off, thats the main thing! :)

Someone else suggested the ice cream thing - def going to pick a couple up and try that this week! The water I'm getting on fine with - I drink at least 3 litres a day, sometimes more. The annoying thing is constantly needing the loo - it is ridiculous how many times a day I have to go!

What are the water flavourings...? There are some things we don't get out here - I've heard people talk about mousses and coconut shakes which we don't have...
 
Thought I'd pop by and subscribe to your diary :) well done on your 6lb loss so far and for staying strong during the social outings! I must admit I'm missing my social life so bad :( should be worth it by the time I'm at goal!! Can't wait to hear how u get on tomorrow at WI!

I'm sure u will love the chocolate shake! It's my favourite :) make it with loads of ice and it's yummy! I tried the ice cream with the choc tetra but mine didn't work out so good ended up having to throw most of it away. I'm not a fan of the soups :( but then again I haven't tried all of the flavours, I've just stuck to flavours I like lol the bars are a god send though!! My faves are the peanut and cranberry yum yum :) xx

Yeh the peanut is my Fave :) u shud defo try n get some cranberry ones they're yummy! I didn't like the chewy bars at all. Got my fingers & toes crossed for u! Gd luck xx
