I feel left out :-(

I am now on day 9 of ss'ing, and feeling great in myself no hunger, just fine. But starting to feel a bit left out & lonely :( I couldnt have any of my sons birthday meal or cake on Weds, Thurs i got into uni and couldnt have a drink to celebrate, Friday my best mate's birthday, and today a BBQ next door with our neighbours, and we have also been invited out tonight, me and hubby only go out once every 2 months, so to get all these offers is bad timing, but man i just want to be sociable. I am really tempted to go to the BBQ and just eat something little, or maybe nothing just to go, and i dont drink alot anyway, i know i wont though as i have very strong will power but just feeling a bit crap, and the smell coming over the fence and hearing my hubby having fun is going to drive me bonkers!!!! x x

The key thing to remember is that the event should be the focus and reward, not the food at the event.

So;
you can go to the pub and celebrate, doesn't mean you have to drink.
you can go to the BBQ and be social, doesn't mean you have to eat.
you can join in the birthday celebration, doesn't mean you have to eat the cake.

Remember, the whole idea of abstaining is to break the mindset of food=fun. Work on that, and things will get a lot easier! :)

Totally agree with Pete! :D
Why don't you prepare yourself a little 'green and white' salad or whatever you want from that section.. Take it with you, you won't be a pain but will be staying strong to SS+ - even if you are on SS it is better to do this than do nothing.

I'm veggie and have had to do this at BBQ's and buffets in the past - to be sure I knew what I was eating.

If you refrain from celebrating/socialising you will fall off the wagon as you'll end up feeling resentful of the diet.
