i hate those nasty scales!

    hi guys!

    hope you are all doing well and having a fabulous 100 % weekend!

    so had my weigh in fri and so disapointed!

    its my restart the first week i lost 9 lbs! then i change to fortnightly weigh ins. so for weeks two and three i lost 6 lbs i wasnt very happy but totm etc and thught id catch up on next weigh in. but week 4 and 5 i lost 5lbs! im pretty pissed off with that really i couldn't even hide it from my cdc. i was like a stroppy teenager lol!

    she says its atleast average and i need to view it as a percentage of my body weight rather than comparing to my original losses when i was like 5 stone heavier but....... blah to that!

    i went for a meal the night before (im on ss+ btw) we went to tgi fridays and while everyone had lush meals starters and deserts i had a poxy chicken and green salad. now i must admit it had a little bbq sauce on it i really thought it wasnt enough to take me out of ketosis though.

    im wondering if this was my downfall what do you think. i had had a head ache for the previous two days so when i woke up the next day with another head ache i still didnt think it was due to being out of ketosis.

    i checked with a ketostick and i was out!! but ive not really been using these as the first time round they never showed me to be in ketosis although i so was!

    anyway soz for banging on but now im cutting back even more im cutting out the 200 kal meal so basically going to ss to see if that helps. if im honnest ive only had one cd pack today im thinking just have one or two and a multivitamin when i can and have three on the bad days, still got the bloody head ache though!:mad:

    Hello,

    I'm new, so might be totally off the mark here, so apologies in advance!

    However, firstly I think that 1st 6lb loss in 5 weeks is amazing! That's still averaging 4lb loss a week which is brilliant and much more than you would get on WW or similar.

    Secondly, what do you mean by only having 2 packs a day and a multivitamin? Please stick to what is recommended. Even on days 1-4 when going into ketosis (as far as I understand it), you should still have your 3 packs a day if SS'ing.

    Where do you get ketosticks from please?

    Totally agree with Jill, cutting back on your packs is NOT the way to do it, and its not going to speed up your losses any. Stick to the number of packs youre meant to have.

    totally agree cutting down to 1 or 2 packs a day is more likely to slow down your losses adn make you ill too . Your body needs the 430 calories ( ish ) and all the vits and minerals too to survive and it is possible to put yourself into starvation mode this way and your body will hang onto all the fat it can and maybe even start to burn muscle .. ( and your heart is muscle so not good !!!!)
    The fastest way ( apart from amputation ) to loose weight is to have 3 packs a day and 3-4 litres of water a day , you are not going to loose any faster , I know it can be disappointing , but you are still loosing much quicker than on a conventional diet :)

    Depending what the BBQ sauce contained it may have knocked you out but you are on your way back now so dont worry about it , just dont have it again !!

    I am convinced there is something about clocks going back and the cortisol cycle messing with all our appetites and metabolisms. Everyone seems to be having trouble this week.

    hi guys thanks for all the replies and i am gonna take your advice.

    whenever i miss a pack or dont drink enough water etc on the odd occasion i mean..... well on that day i feel fine but i really suffer the next day or two. dont know why i donnot learn! so not surprising im feeling really runbbish today after just one pack yesterday.

    so ive had some good sleep :D re-evaluated and stopped sulking. i do agree that the 4lb a week average is good that was what i averaged last time and what i wanted to average this time. the way i see it though is the first week is always a big loss so dont count that loss, so, 11lb average over 4 weeks not so good, but its coming off and my sizes are defo going down.

    im gonna ss for this week atleast. then if i want to go back to ss+ for the second week i will. my cdc confirmed theres not much diff in weight loss between ss and ss + but said seeing as im having to force myself to eat the meal i could leave it for a bit and one week os just ss could kick my motabolism up the bum.

    thanks again guys and today i am back on track with sooooooooo much house work to do and OH away till tonight i need all the packs i can get :rolleyes:

    oh........... you get the ketosticks from most chemists. the likes of holland and barrett etc donnot stock them although i read that they do lol. nost chemists stock them, when i bought them they asked if if they were for a diabetic as if they werent gonna sell em to me!! i just said yeah ofc lol but it was a funny little independant chemist. you can buy them online too if you can be bothered to wait for them
