do u still want to stick with the diet? do u think u can go back on it tommor? i had a couple of slips but got straight back on waggon, my losses not as good as others id say because of it but i convinced myself to stay on it and i'm so glad i did,
so its up to u missus if you make up your mind to do it you can, and it will be worth it but u really do need to be in the right frame of mind!! sorry if this not helpful

Hi Sabrina

Dont worry about it.......I understand you feel bad but please dont beat yourself up. Whats done is done. Get back on the LT wagon and draw a line under it.

The first few days are the hardest and I completely understand why you've done it. I felt like giving in until about day 4 but I used to log onto here and the support you'll get from everyone here is fantastic.. 2 weeks on and I'm fine.....yeah - I drive past the chippy with the window open so I can smell them but the results you'll get in a short period of time make the good things worth the wait (albeit in moderation!!)

Get back on track from now and use this forum cos it will help.

As I said the first few days are the hardest but drink plenty of water and keep yourself busy.

Best of luck and keep us posted x

thank you for the advice both, i really appreciate it

Hi i am on day 2 of CD and my demons are working overtime with me tonight all i have been thinking of eating is some special k and a shape fuller yoghurt not even junk food lol but i cant give in and eat.
At the end of the day you have to have ur head in the right place and want this big time.
You have to think of this period of time not as a sentence where you cant eat all the foods that got you overweight to start with but instead think of it as the shakes are the food you choose to eat.
Ketosis will not hurt your liver its just people who are against vlcd diets scaremongering, as long as u follow the diet and drink your water you will be fine.
This will only be a small period of time and look at the prize you will have at the end.
You only have 60 lbs to lose think of it this way if you stick to Lt 100% for the next 16 weeks or poss sooner you will be at goal and feel so happy and proud of urself.
The first week is always the hardest in any vlcd but it does get easier you just have to want it big time.

There are always people on here to help you if you need someone to talk to day or night and the people on here are fab and so supportive and will support you.
You can do this just start afresh tomorrow and get back on track and always keep your eye on the prize.
Take care x

look tru the maintence and reefeed threads here the insperation you will get in unbeleivable, honestly i've lost 2 stone in 6 weeks i feel like a new person and there is so many more on here that have lost way more than that, its hard sometimes but really worth it,

best of luck with whatever u decide :)

thank you for the kind words

yeah im going to start up afresh again tmrw, im happy its saturday as the weekend tends to go quite quickly and i have the WI next Wednesday

im so annoyed at myself for messing it up

Lipotrim is not starving urself at all the pharmacist would not sell it if it was dangerous as they are the ones who are monitoring you.
You have to look at it like instead of eating a low cal menu you are having the same thing but in shakes instead but having ur complete nutrition in the 3 shakes.

that's true, is it a low carb diet then or is that diff from a TFR?

will the food have knocked me totally out of ketosis?

Minimin - have you watched the LT video? Your pharmacy should have given you a copy to watch before you started, or at least during week one. If you haven't had this, ask them for it or watch online at the LT website.

You NEED to be fully informed on any diet before you start it. LT is not a dangerous diet, the 3 sachets a day provide all the nutritional benefits that we need - this is why we need to have all 3 every day.

You've had a blip - so have lots of people and most have bounced back and continued with the LT journey successfully so you too can do this.

Don't dwell on this lapse, instead think about what you want to achieve and concentrate on little goals and milestones - and reward yourself when you achieve them!

You can do this!! Get right back on, the important thing is not to let one lapse turn into 2, 3 or 4 lapses. DOn't write off a whole week cos of one bad event.

Good luck and keep us posted here :)

Hi Mini

What has happened, has happened..no point worrying about it now. You have to learn from it and move on.

If LT was dangerous, pharmacies and GP's would advocate it at all. It is a very low calorie diet, with minimum of calories in the form of shakes which have all the nutrients and minerals your body needs to function every day. I do not believe people at LT would allow any of us to make ourselves ill.

You are either trying to talk yourself out of doing it, which is fine,,,,we are all at different stages and maybe now is not the right time for you.

I was on Day 2 or 3 (cant remember exactly what day) and I met a friend on the train, who is a cancer specialist...she was horrified I was doing the diet and insisted I came off......I went home and was trying to talk myself round and cried. My husband was the one that talked me round.

At the end of the day, I was obese, and it was affecting every part of my life and I was very depressed....this diet has saved me and given me back my sanity and my self respect. I have never felt ill at all, and I have also had an minor operation and stayed with LT and have recovered!

There are many people on this forum that will tell you of all their successes...just look on the re-feed/maintenance to see. It works. It gives results, BUT, it also asks that you be 100% committed to the program.

Like Elle says, you should know all about the program, etc from the DVD...the pharmacist shouldnt have given you any sachets without you understanding what it is all about.

If you want to do it, just dust yourself down sweetie......get back on. I had a blip on Wk 3 and it really did shake me up and to be honest it made me more determined to do this....39lbs later I am here, and I am determined to get to my goal.

Life is good, and that is because LT and me are working together as partners!

Take care and I do hope you take this post in the right way. I do hope you are able to know what you want and make the right decision for you.

thank you for the advice mist, v much appreciated...i jumped back on the wagon today and just had my 3rd shake of the day, i went out on my mountain bike today too it was good getting some fresh air :)

does anyone have any idea of how long it will take for me to get back into ketosis?

Hi Mini

It normally takes 4-5 days to get into ketosis....you will know you are in it by a metalic taste in your mouth and usually by not feeling hungry!

Well done - I think it was probably what you needed...makes you realise how thin that line is between doing it and not!
Just prepare yourself if your Weigh In isnt what you would have liked..but, the week after, if you carry on, you will be happy!

It is just one of those things,,,,try and remember how you felt at the time and how awful you felt.....like i always say (getting fed up with myself saying it :)) bottle those feelings...and when you feel like binging again, try and bring back the feelings you had.....it works for me !!!!

Have a great week!

Mist are you a mind reader?

lol, because i was just thinking i think my blip yesterday was needed because i now know how it feels and i can think back to it and thin the line is

im wondering if the chemist has given me enough shakes or if im 3 down? im only got enough until Tuesday and then WI on Wed, should it include the Wed too?

hahahahah - no, just know how it goes cause been there :)

Well, I dont think I am anyway!!!! hhaha

You should have been given 21 shakes.
If you went to the pharmacy on Tuesday, you should have enough for wed, thur, fri, sat, sun, mon, tue - and then you will need your next lot for Wednesday.....what time do you go to the pharmacy?

If it isnt till later on in the day, it might be an idea to try and get there as early as possible.

Actually, I think if you went to the pharmacy on the tuesday, then you should be going back to the pharmacy on the Tuesday...!!!!

I went to the pharmacy on a Thursday, but didnt start LT till the Friday, but I always go on the Thursday, and have shakes for that day.

Does this make sense? Got a little mixed up I think to start...

yes that make's sense thank you.

i got the shakes on the Wednesday and started the same day

Ah, right, that is why you wont have any left....just try and get there as early as possible...some people dont have their first shake until quite late on, so it wont make any differnce...so long as you have your three on Wed.

Good luck by the way on Wed...and dont forget to let us all know how you got on.

Take care

Think you might be thinking of Ketoacidosis which is an uncontrolled ketosis.

With a TFR (total food replacement) the content of all essential vitamins and minerals along with carbs, fats and protein is controlled. Fasting will lead to Ketosis, but not Ketoacidosis. Some parts of your body prefer fuel as ketones (eg, heart and kidney for instance) rather than the usual glucose. Your body is just using fat as it's energy source.

Thing like Cambridge have been researched for over 20 years and comply with NICE guidelines.

Have a look here Ketoacidosis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think that might be where you're getting the blood thing.
:)

xx

I was on tfr for two months and lost nearly 2.5 stone. I had problems with totm, and did feel a little tired at times, but its the best thing I have done. I have been off tfr now for about 8 Weeks and have lost another 7 pounds through healthy eating and calorie control. (had to come off due to holiday, did not have much more to lose) Listen to your body and give it a chance, it may not suit everyone, but you have to give it a fair trial. Good luck
