GLUCIDES!!!!!!

oh lordy you will be in trouble !!!!

ha ha ha :) miss you Jo hope you having a lovely time x

Oh gosh you're not far wrong!!! Glucides galore! Even the alcoholic sort. Can you believe it was 37°C in the SHADE yesterday round our way! AWFUL!

I had a lovely time - truly - and only got a bit stressed at times. Once I'd lost the plot, I enjoyed things far more (duh!), but we did walk every day and although I know I've regained plenty, I am at least in a pair of trousers today which I can't always manage on my return from a break.

I am now in hell in the office - replacing too many people to mention, and I've been worried all night - so I doubt I'll catch up with anyone's diary. My sister is still here, so we'll be out this evening which will make a nice break at least after a sleepless night (mega storms, and thankfully 10°C less this morning!)...

So if any of you can bear to let me know on this thread how you're doing (diet and "other" wise!), that would be much appreciated as I can't see I'll get round the diaries for a few days...

Meanwhile, a pic of us before going to the chateau for lunch.

(From right to left: My Dad, my sister, me, then this three friends)

Welcome back Jo, nice to see you again. Glad you had a good time and lovely photo! We're all ticking away nicely on here I think

lovely to have you back and the pics are fab thanks for sharing xxx
Glad on the trews too..get gluggling that water.
It was awful awful here yesterday but rained and is now cooler.
I do hope work isnt too bad for you love.

Diary for me - doing my higher carb lower calorie fat thing and quite enjoying it. Much more sustainable and healthier and im eating bread without a massive gain. Still got around half a stone to lose (ok a stone in an ideal world) but the weekend gain wasnt half as bad. 71 days without smoking and my non smoking money is going straight back in the governements pocket a petrol tax!

Hi hello from me too - what a nice picture, thanks for sharing. Glad you had a good time and you're a seasoned Dukaneer to get past that now ;-)

I've not been posting much - maybe an odd comment here and there but nothing big, I'm busy too... : not much to say except the scales had crept up again on Friday (that carby weekend!!) but I've been much more in control since (actually since the Monday before), so hopefully this Friday will be a loss (??!?). It's definitely a loss in bloat-inches (the ones above the waist!) for sure, at least that's how it looks to me! I had one 'Gala' on sunday PM which consisted of two palm-sized home made mini-pizzas, and a piece of cake and a glass of lemonade. Managed not to give into 'ah well you can have something else as it's a carby day already' in the evening!

And I've become an Auntie again yesterday morning :-D my sister had a baby girl!

Coming up for me in the next month: big concert on Sat (I'm singing), DD1 Ballett end-of-year show, DD1s birthday party (preparations already in full swing). Choir annual accounts to complete and AGM.

So less posts from me I'm afraid.

And after total heatwave (32C in the shade at the back of the house, that never gets sun) yesterday it's now back to 20C and bucketing down with rain (thunderstorm) right now.

Good luck with work - and thanks for checking in!

Ive had an amazing few days away and am back to flat hunting which is time consuming.
Not dieting, yet to fit in food shopping since return and looks like that wont happen until thursday  .

Hope work improves, glad you had some fun.

Thank you ladies. After a pretty awkward morning at work (I hate not knowing what I'm doing!), my sister rang to say she'd come back to the flat from her morning's Paris browse to water everywhere! ugh! I managed to get a plumber out, who wanted £300 to change a pipe (whereas I'd paid more than that 3 weeks ago to unblock same pipe!), so I declined his kind offer, got the water turned off, and OH (from telephone distance) reckons it's the washer gone in the tap where the washing machine is attached. (Anyone with unemployed offspring, get them into plumbing school. They'll soon make their first million!)

Anyway from there, we headed back out into the suffocating air to find a creperie (my sister's favourite - I simply went along for the ride, you understand ;)). I won't go into details but they were lovely! (They?!!).

Home and bed by 10.30pm. Storms 10 mins after we got home so water IS our friend after all, and now it's blissfully COOL...

My guests at the house were glorying in 38°C heat yesterday, but now report storms also, so we can all get some good night's sleep hopefully after this silly heat!

Back on Dukan Monday; you know me when I set my mind to it, so anyone struggling who needs a STRONG dieting partner, get revved up for attack Monday 4th!

Glad that you're having a nice time with your family/friends, Jo (great photo), but sorry you have more plumbing woes - we have just had our letter through from our insurance company after our own problem last month, so can get the hole blocked up temporarily once we have the cheque in the bank (we were waiting in case they wanted to send out an expert - unlikely but you never know). Have told husband he should apply for plumbing course through hospital (there are precious few perks working there - apart from job stability, which is why he went there - so I reckon he should make the most of it). Plumbing is the only thing he can't confidently do house-wise, so if he can get that done, we'll be self-sufficent in that domain, well, once the big building work is out of the way - need professionals for that, don't want the house falling down!)

Oh dear, more waffle!

I'm being more careful this week, diet-wise (heavy weekend looming) and am conso-ing - trying damage limitation before it happens!

It was horribly hot Monday and especially yesterday here too, but today it's really windy and that's cooled things down - awaiting the storm this afternoon!

Hope work is OK today!

Morning everyone. Sorry you have more plumbing woes Jo! I ma not going near any creperies in Paris - it was bad enough on holiday in the US last year!

I love this cooler weather - so much more comfortable. I thought I was alone in enjoying the rain!

Sorry to read about yet more plumbing problems. Hope you get it sorted out soon - and not so expensively!

I'm trying not to think about the crêpes as they're one of my absolute favourites, too.

I really want to know what you had in your crepes - pm me ?? You know how i am with food porn!
Glad its cooler- it is here too, the muggy humid air is terrible.
