I'm no chef but....

...this isn't right, is it?

This is supposedly a can of organic green lentils in water. I took the lid off and was expecting some beige lentils swimming around in some juice much like chick peas. Instead, I was greeted with some solidified, green gunk with a few brown blobs. I mashed up the can a bit (as per the picture) and there are some lentils under the sludge but having never actually used lentils before I'm not entirely sure if it's right or wrong. A yay or nay would be great please. I feel a complete nob even asking but I don't want to throw them away if this is actually how they're supposed to be. Don't fancy my speed soup so much anymore!

I'm no lentil expert, but that does not look good! All the tins I've opened are as you described rather than the one pictured.

Brilliant, thanks for replying. Kinda gone off the whole lentil thing now so made some Leek and Potato instead. :)
