i low apple crumble and was just wondering if anybody knows of a good topping i could use:confused:

What about using porridge oats (HEX B) mixed with brown sugar Splenda (not sure of the syns but I'm sure it's better than normal brown sugar) and Flora Extra Light (only 1 syn per 10g) mixed with some cinnamon, etc.

Probably about the lowest you'll get!

I use the large porridge oats (1 HEB portion per person), made up with water & sweetener sugar, a sachet of butter buds (1/2 syn)spread it over the top of the fruit & spray with butter fry lite.

I think you can get them from lakeland - never had them, but intend to try next time i'm near a lakeland store. They are supposed to taste like butter with non of the fat - ideal for jacket potatoes etc. Hope this helps.

whats butter buds? never heard of this
Sorry not been about for a while. Yes as mariejean says, they are avail from lakeland. It's sachets of butter flavoured powder, but without the fat. 1/2 syn each sachet. I use then a lot, with things like mashed pots, jackets...even put them in baked beans!!!

got some rhubarb so will try one of these for a topping
