Hello Minimins.

I'm not really a newbie, as I was on Exante for a few weeks last year and shed 18lbs. But after a 4 week holiday in South Africa followed by Christmas I slowly started sliding down that slippery slope back to my old eating habits. 12lbs of 18lbs have found me again but I'm ready to ditch them and a whole lot more.

I have a total of 54 lbs to let go. They do not belong to me.

By doing Exante I've learnt to resist eating when I'm emotional as I don't seem to reach for food when I'm down anymore. And I've learnt that a VLCD is definitely what works for me as a shift worker because it's convenient.

I've ordered a weeks worth of Slim and Save because I feel that Exante is rather bland and there is not a lot of the products that I like apart from the shakes. Slim and Save has more on offer and the diet is more flexible which suits me when I need to do night shifts. I like that I can add protein rich meals and veggies. I'm planning on using the rest of my Exante left over before my S&S arrives.

I will start my diary as soon as my order arrives.

Good luck on your s&s journey :) The products are brilliant, really yummy!! Most who come from a diff vlcd LOVE s&s when they convert over, hope you do too, its very enjoyable!! Ive done it for 10 weeks now but im having a break trying ww, hoping to find out if i can keep the weight under control while eating!! Have a great day xx
 
Thanks Stef. My plan is also to go onto WW when I've reached my goal.

But first it's letting go of these 4 stones and getting back to small portions that serve their purpose.

I'm really looking forward to starting again.

Thanks! I hope so to. I've tried Dietchef to but the food was revolting and I couldn't actually stomach another bite after 3 days. I was in tears.

This time I only ordered the chilli and mac and cheese from S&S to give it a try. But mostly bars and shakes (I love shakes to death). I don't think I'll try the soups (if they are anything like Exante I'm staying well away) because I'm not a massive soup drinker.

So shakes and bars it will be for me. That's why I love being able to add proteins into my diet. I love chicken and fish and eggs etc.

Anyway, let's see how it goes. How have you found the S&S soups vs Exante?
 
I didn't try the Exante soups as I'm not a fan of soup anyway, but I tried the s&s mushroom one - won't be trying it again! I know others on here like them though. I like most of the shakes, the white choc and lemon bar is lush, as are both truffa bars. The mushroom pasta is lovely as a sauce over chicken, a lot of people love the chili in a lettuce wrap. Its Saturday and I'm waiting in anticipation on the arrival of my S&S box to arrive today... Feeling very excited.

As I'm still prepping to start my VLCD I'm slowly reducing everything and upping the water intake. Luckily drinking plenty of water was something else that stuck after Exante because I now drink about 2-3L of water a day without even thinking about it.

I think I might have the onslaughts of an ear infection coming around because I was I'll in bed with heavy ear ache and migraine most of the day yesterday. Feeling slightly better today but still not 100%. I blame this rotten weather.

Ok, so I've cut down all my carbs. Yesterday I had a high protein lunch of tuna and prawns in a tbs of tomato pasta sauce with a small salad of tomatoes cucumber and gherkin and one babybell cut up. I had an Exante strawberry shake for dinner but I forgot just how awful that tasted. I use a blender on my shakes as I like them thick but this was a real struggle to get down. The banana and vanilla ones were always my favs on Exante but all I'm left with is chocolate and strawberry bleh! I had a few nuts and dried fruit to tie me over but all in good measure.

Today I've started with another strawberry shake. I added a sweetener tablet and some vanilla essence (diluted with water) and about 5ml of psyllium husks to my shake. Blitzed it in the bender and it came out delicious. I've heard that the S&S shakes are sweet so that will defo be a bonus for me. Exante are really tasteless. I also have about Tesco 20 slim bars and a few biggest Loser bars hanging around so I should have ample to keep things interesting for a while.

For lunch I'm dong a roast fillet of beef, with veg and rice. I'm still going to cook for my OH everyday like I've been doing but I will not have any of the carbs/sauces/extras that he's having. I have to teach myself to be satisfied with a small portion of food. My husband is 6"5 and I actually eat bigger portions then he does. Of that I am very ashamed.

Anyway, this is my daily blab. Slightly reflective of my "can't be arsed to do anything" mood.

Sounds like a good meal plan for the day! The shakes are sweet, i did LT a while ago and they are amazing compared to them! have a great day xx

Sunday. Yesterday was a real let down. I waited all day for the City Link man and when it became late I double checked my tracking email and it said in BOLD letters my order will be delivered on Monday!!! So I felt like a proper old tit!

We went to the cinema last night to watch The Avengers. That was excellent. I only had a small salty popcorn and some diet Pepsi. It's strange because it felt like my popcorn was never ending... I usually go for a med sweet and that normally finished before the movie starts... This time I was well into it before I finished.

WI this morning put me at 2lbs lighter than yesterday but I am sure that got something to do with my TOTM coming to an end. I usually gain around 4-5lbs around then. But since I've been really cutting down I think that may well have added to the shedding.

Today was my "last supper" as some like to call it. I call it my food send off because that ship has sailed... This consisted of a larger than ever needed 4 roast carvery and afters. I feel like a glutton because I certainly got my money's worth but it's left me feeling overly full but also satisfied that I am making the right choice. No one needs to eat that much in one sitting. It's utterly repulsive.

The rain is not helping. My mood is in the toilet because it's gloom and doom out. We can't possibly continue to stay indoors anymore. It's doing my head in. Even the cat is fed-up with the rain. We had about 20 mins worth of break in the clouds earlier. That was the highlight of my weekend!!

Anyhow, before this goes on forever I'm off to have a loooong soak to reflect on things. Today is the end of a very very long battle with my low self-esteem and my super body hang ups. I am never going to be the "fat funny one" or the "she's got a pretty face, pity about the weight one" ever again.

Watch this space.

Well u got the last supper out ur system now and ur ready for a big change! U have a great attitude to starting, keep it up and u will go far!
And believe me it works, I am no longer ' the little chubby one'!! Even tho I am still chubby yet lol

Know wot u mean about the rain, it's horrible!!
We all seem to be in a mood in our house lol

Thanks Stef. You are my motivation. You've come far and it's so inspiring. It's really easy to throw the ropes in but it takes a special something to carry on. Giving up the one vice that has so many emotions connected to it. It's like a puppet master pulling its strings.

I start on Monday and I can't wait.

Where I come from we eat... We eat when we're happy and when we're are sad, when we are bored and everyone wants to feed us... Its like things aren't normal unless you have a plate of food in your hand. I am actually sick of eating. Sick of food and sick of being fat. I never ever thought I'd ever say this but I don't ever want to be able to finish another plate of food in my life. I've shovelled so much into my mouth that it's making me hate myself.


My moaning must have had some impact on the weather because it seems to have cleared up tonight. No doubt I'll be waking up to some more but tomorrow is a start of a new me. Ain't nothing gonna get me down.

Monday. My box has finally arrived :) :) :)

I have been doing alot of clearing out lately, sold a heap of stuff on eBay so far and I have to say that it's all really good for my soul. The sun is shining brightly today and there's not a cloud in the sky. A perfect day to chage my life.

I've gained some great inspiration on this forum on how everyone stores and labels up their food so I've spent the morning doing that. My shakes and bars and meals are now all in their own little compartments in the kitchen. Everything with its name in bold blue marker.

So far I've had the Choc Crisp shake- I chose this for breakfast because it has cereal in it. All I can say is Oh Lordy!!!! This stuff is AMAZING!!! It's thick and creamy and it smells and tastes delish! it's better than alot of full sugar/fat shop bought shakes that's for sure. It's sweet enough and really really chocolaty. No nasty after taste either.

I had 1/3 of the chocolate Truffa bar which I cut into fingers as some ladies suggested and that too is really pleasant. It's thick and chewy and sweet. It's got a slight after taste but I can certainly live with that.

I'm having the Mac and Cheese for lunch over some steamed chicken breast as I'm cooking OH chicken and bacon pasta. So we can eat together.

Working nights tonight so I'm going to save the rest of my bar and another shake for night time. I'll stock up on some bullion to see me through the late hours when everyone else is having their main meals.

I have a feeling this is going to be an easy diet to follow. Day one and so far I'm so impressed.

Caramel shake for dinner was fantastic!! Tastes like condensed milk.. I am in love!!!

Thanks hun. I'm loving it so far. Body getting well into the rhythm now. All the aches and pains are gone. How about you?

I've only just woken up. Was a long hectic night last night. I detest night shift!

Last night at work I had a praline bar around 11pm cut up with black coffee. And then this morning around 4am I had a latte shake cold and I have to admit that I didn't enjoy that too much. think I might try that one hot with extra coffee next time. Reminded me too much of the Exante vanilla mixed with coffee.

Slept from 9am till 3pm and had a tuna and prawns salad for dinner. Followed by a crispy vanilla shake. I added crushed ice to that and it was yummy!! Going to have a bar for a snack with coffe again before I go. And then do it all again tomorrow.

Call me crazy but I can already start to see small changes. I think after cutting down the carbs over the weekend and now being on S&S has given me a good start. I weighed myself on Monday and I am going to try my best to avoid the scales until next Monday.

Anyway nuff about that. Im off to a bath and then ready for work. :cry:

Good luck avoiding the scales! They're so tempting lol. You sound like you're in the zone already :) awesome you're starting the diet when working nights too, I'm sure lots of people would use that as an excuse not to start, but you're going for it! You're not crazy for noticing changes already, I had so much bloating before starting my tummy went down a few inches in the first week. Hope you're not working too hard! x
