It's Now Or Never

Quick food update as I think I'm in danger of losing track otherwise. Will update later with the rest.

Breakfast:
Latte with soya milk (half HEa).
Mixed fruit, branflakes (HEb), natural low fat yoghurt.

Apple. 1 green and blacks Choc (4 syns)

Lunch:
6 rashers of grilled back Bacon, 2 slices of wholemeal bread (8 syns), 1 tomato, 4 laughing cow extra light (rest of HEa plus 1 syn) - done up as a sandwich, lovely!
Couple of sweeties Steven gave me (1 syn say)
3 clementines.

14 syns and healthy extras gone so far.

Plan is for some minced beef onion, with potatoes and veg for tea, which is all free.

No more syns today in case I underestimated the syns for the little sweeties.

Phew, feel back in control now. Have been a demon in the garden, but back I go!

Well done for getting back on track chick. Have a lovely evening.

Hugs

Well I need to allow another 0.5 syn for some gravy granules, but have now had a lovely tea.

Thanks for asking after my Nan. My aunt called earlier and seemed hopeful, apparently my Nan opened her eyes again and was nodding and shaking her head, and squeezing my aunts hand in response to questions. She's hanging in there. Feel like I'm gonna burst into tears just writing it. I've had enough now, I just want my Nan back. :-(

Me and smoking have a bit of a history. Started at 13, and smoked my way through my pregnancy (which was plagued with stress due to the drunken disappearances of my ex-husband). Fortunately the bairn, whilst 5 weeks early was the healthiest little thing ever, and the only one on the prem ward not to succumb to infections of jaundice.
Anyhoo, I finally kicked the habit when the bairn was 4 months old and didn't touch a single cig for over 6 years. Then I got a bit depressed (understatement lol) and succumbed. I managed to kick it after a year back on, which was last summer. Hence I am do cross that I've succumbed again now. I know it doesn't help in anyway, and is itself a cause of stress, rather than something that eases it. I hate the smell on me etc etc.

So I do have my patch on, am a bit grumpy and will spend the evening having a nice girlie nail polish and tlc sort of evening. Am gagging for a cig though big time. Grrr lol

So there you go. If ever there was a girl who was too hard on herself and made things more difficult than they need to ve for herself - then that girl is me lol

Your support is invaluable though. Thank you :) xx

P.s. I shall share my pic of Chris Tremlett with you girls (again I think). What I wouldn't do to him, and he's 6ft 7in - I LOVE tall men! But they are in general a very good looking bunch of men. I'd love to find myself in the team jacuzzi after a match. :)

We all have our challenges and addictions, and cigarettes are a common one. You could have been doing something worse, for sure! We don't judge you for it, there are definitely folks on this board who have the same struggle. :)

So glad you have a healthy son, and it's good to hear that your Nan seems to have made some progress. Hopefully it will be slowly but surely. :heartpump:

Lol thanks for that pic pinkie. Can I point out how much he is struggling to contain the contents of his hand?!?!

Well done on not smoking and on your food and productive weekend. Enjoy your bank hol eve my lovely xxxxx

LOL @ Jules comment !!

Well done Pinkie on your NSV's. I know from my own experiences that the next stone or so will bring about huge changes and LOADS more people will notice. I'm excited for you :)

Well done on holding it together while things have been difficult for you with your Nan. That is a great achievement. I hope she continues to improve.

I was not expecting to see that picture on the end of your post... I can see why you are enjoying the cricket so much ;) Bf was watching the highlights the other night but I wasn't really paying much attention, he would love it if I suddenly became interested in cricket lol xx

Honestly, there are some right sorts in the team. Trott would get it too, especially after today (203 runs). My ex husband got me into it when we first got together. Spent a rainy day down the pub in Margate watching England v Pakistan. Now I have Sky Sports I can watch it whenever its on. Sky Sports will be one of the very last things I give up in times of hardship. Not above my beloved Eurosport though (bike porn) lol

Jules, I suspect he has large hands! ;-)

I have now watered in all my new plants, made Sausage's butterbean dip ready for tomorrow's pack up, and done a load of ironing. My beloved Brands tomorrow with the bairn. He is really excited to be spending a week with his Mummy. I was pleasantly surprised as he is getting more and more into hanging out with his friends. But he's very cuddly at the moment and looking forward to a week with just the two of us.

Oh and weigh in tomorrow night. It would be good to see 2lbs coming off after the smaller 0.5lb last week. But I'll take any loss, its all in the right direction hey?

** edit - just flicked onto Eurosport and WSBK superpole is on - Hurrah! It's one long pervefest for me tonight (had cricket highlights on whilst ironing).

Quick update.

I lost 1.5lbs, which fits in with the norm for week 3 of the cycle. So that's good.

But..... The big news is my Nan has finally woken properly today. She can't speak and is trying to write words on our arms with her finger. Except my dilbert sister and Dad hadn't worked out that that was what she was doing. But I clicked when I went in later, and asked if she was trying to write something, to which she nodded. So after several attempts, we worked out she was writing 'sore' :-( it was her legs and she wanted her cream on them. So got that all sorted. Read all her birthday cards to her, and told her about the card from the vicar, so read her one of the prayers on it. She wanted to keep holding the card, so I left her with it. She obviously still isn't entirely my Nan, but she's getting there, and she is fighting. Fussing over her legs is typically her (she has probs with ulcers). So I am so happy now. Had a lovely day at Brands with the bairn. A good visit with good news re my Nan. Just watching Star Wars: The Attack of the Clones with bairn, ordered a curry (**** it, I'm celebrating) and then have the days cricket, BSB and WSBK to catch up on. Happy days!

My router has gone for a Burton, so am relying on my signal in the blackspot that is my home. Therefore I'll catch up later, slowly but surely on all your diaries.

Happy Pinkie! :) x

Well done on a good weight loss and so glad you had a nice day. Brilliant news about your Nan. I hope she continues to make good progress.

Yay for -1.5 pounds! :D:D:D

I understand about the difficulty of communicating with somebody; my husband's dad is a stroke victim and has lost probably 99% of his vocabulary; he can say around 30 words which is quite limiting. He can't write or draw anymore because of his limited motor skills. Hubby and I almost always know what he wants though. :) Your nan will get better I'm sure!

It's okay to enjoy yourself once in a while, too... later I'm having a mini Twix bar, about the size of my little finger but it will be lovely anyhow. :D

Fab news about your Nan Hun and well done on the weight loss.

Think I'll start watching cricket too. May even take the sport up if I can play with balls like that lol

Catch ya soon

Hugs

Well done Supermum :superwoman:, you have kept focused through all the $hit you've had recently with your Nan - glad she is awake and doing well, bless her. I think a curry was well and truly deserved. Well done you.

2.5lb off for me this week so got my stone and half (at last) was hoping for 3lbs so could get my club 10 and drop into the 13's (I didn't think there was such a number it's been soooo longs since I've seen it) will get there next week.

Have a lovely week off with the bairn honey xxxxxxxx :)

Thanks girlies. Yes my Nan's progress is wonderful news and a relief for all of us. But she'll be in for a few months yet. She is a determined woman though, and provided they can keep secondary infections at bay (bearing in mind she caught MRSA last time she was in), I hope she'll go from strength to strength. :)

I've set myself the target now of getting to 13 stone by the end of August. Probably a very tall order, but I tend to respond well to challenges, so fingers crossed. Made a nice chorizo pasta salad today. Off to see the Henry Moore sculptures in a bit with my wee lad. Have dared to wear a halter neck top with knee length jeans, do the weather had better behave! :)

Hope you all have a fab day, and thank you once again for your supportive posts. I've been quite distanced from friends at mo, as spare time has been spent up the hospital. So your kind words really do count. :) x

Thank you, but well done you! A shame not to get that Club 10, but its just a whisker away now and a 2.5lb loss is excellent! :) x

Well done on your loss Pinkie, hope you are having lots of fun with the bairn.

Nice to hear your Nan is fighting back too, long may it continue xx
