January 2009 - Starters

:welcome:To all you newbies. I'm sure you will find this forum so supportive.

I'm so sorry GGF that you may have to stop. That was a great suggestion by H.

Well done to everyone on their losses :flowers:
I had my first week weigh in last night and have lost a massive 13lbs. I couldn't believe it. I had already lost 9lb at the pop in on sat so didn't think I would loose too much more. I am soooo pleased. I just hope it carries on.

I feel so positive about this diet. Even my OH who wasn't 100% happy about me doing it has been great. He's even had a little taste of some of my soups and is really glad that the soups are nice.

Good luck to everyone who has WI tonight (including my mum, Sue P) but I'm sure none of you will need it.

Take care and speak soon x x :gen126:

13lb! That's brilliant, congrats! That first stone is so close, you must be well pleased!

Wow what fantastic losses everyone has had! :D

Well done everyone and welcome Sean!

Hi Bevlier

Day 8 was my worst day! I started having proper addiction style cravings that I knew from when I gave up smoking! it was horrible but the next day was a bit better and now I am on day 11 and I am fine again, only mild cravings but coping better!

GGF good luck!

Thanks misswee. It's my daughter's 10th birthday today and I'd be lying if I said I didn't really want some of her chocolate birthday cake! And it's her party on Sunday where there will be lots of kids and lots of yummy food so no doubt that will be a nightmare! :( I'm determined to stick at it though because if I get to Day 100 and get the predicted weight loss, I should be about 16 stone, which will be the least I've weighed for 10 years! :)

Bevlier, best not to think of it as '92 days to go' etc, because then it is daunting. Just focus on your next weigh in. As someone said, The journey of 1000 miles starts with one step. Or something like that, so hang on in there and don't think about the other 12 weeks because as others have said on here, they fly by.

Welcome Beverley! I think a few of us had 2nd week cravings/"hunger" and of course you're finding it hard with birthday stuff about. But you've made it this far so keep going a day at a time and we'll be here to support you.

Thanks PurpleButterfly, that makes sense. Only 6 days till next weigh-in :) I've been on this site for hours now, trying to stay positive! It's working though so that's good. Of course, I've been drinking lots of water all the while :)

Hi Jan Starters!

I started lighter life last Nov and im due to finish foundation next week. However, after loosing 1& half stone i fell off the wagon over christmas. Although I havent put on any weight, i have stayed the same for the last 3 weeks and i have been finding it hard to get back into. Because of this, after my foundation finishes I am going to go to carry on abstinence class for the next month or two to shift a couple more stone before RTM. I was wondering if I can join this thread on forum as I see myself as a Jan starter now too!?

Fine by me, Sarah-J!

Hi Beverley
I'm on day 8 too and have struggled today after having a really good first week. I have stuck with it though and have focussed my mind on getting through from one meal pack to the next, drinking loads of water and keeping busy. I guess it all affects us at different times in different ways, but we can get through each day until it becomes a breeze. It's a bit like learning a skill, takes time to get used to but then becomes second nature. I think I'm talking about dealing with the 'emotional' cravings? Does this make sense?

H.
