    Hey guys

    im not a huge fan of the mix a mousse. I was thinking of trying the sugar free small tubs of jelly from asda or morrisons as a treat. I know this isn't exactly kosher Cambridge, has anyone else tried it and stayed in ketosis?

    Don't take this the wrong way, it's not meant to be bad, but if you want to eat, are you not better trying SW or WW. The whole idea of Cambridge is that you stick to the plan for fast weight loss. If there were things we could eat, sure it would be included in the plan :)

    Well I've tried lots of things and I've found that a vlcd is the only way i manage to lose enough weight. I know I'm not the only one that fiddles with the plan every now and again. And honestly I'd rather go a little off plan and stay in ketosis if it means keeping me sane rather than going crazy and blowing it all to hell!

    I've had sugar free jelly in the past, and eating one or two tubs a day has been fine for me... after all it's only like having squash with a bit if gelatine in it.
    the Definition of VLCD is less than 800 Calories a day. the reason that Cambridge advise no other food is that eating carbs may knock you out of ketosis and so make you hungry and more likely to eat more..... (it's also the reasoning behind the ban on 'diet drinks' which may contain acetic acid which in theory can also knock you out of ketosis... I've yet to meet anyone for whom this has happened, but it's possible.
    So whilst I'm not advising anyone to eat anything they fancy so long as it's less than 800 cals..... some things are better choices than others, if you really need to have something!

    I am also really tempted to have sugar free jelly but held back so far because like everyone said "it's not on the list" but I know what you mean about going crazy!!!!

    I plan on making a cheesecake out of cottage cheese, jelly and one of my bars!!! Using the "FOR THE CHEESECAKE" part of this recipe (really good using lemon, or strawberry sugar free jelly). My mum used to make it for us all the time when we were kids and only recently did I learn it actually wasn't that bad for you!! And when on step three you could add in a bit of your fruit allowance!

    On slim and save vlcd you can have the sugar free crystals I pk a day if that helps xx

    I used to make jelly using gelatine and the water flavouring. Can make it to your taste and less likely to have hidden ingredients that 'could' knock you out of ketosis x
