Just to say hello :)

    Hi everyone

    Thought I'd pop my head round the door and say howdy, as I've been rather busy of late!

    I've lurked a couple of times, but that's about it .. life really has been manic this end, but I miss posting and keeping up to date with everyone.

    I've been playing with CD since I started (whenever that was?) .. managed to lose a stone by the first WI, then it went to pot and all I lost was a pound the following week. Couldn't make my WI this week due to work, but after being away at the weekend and eating/drinking, that was no bad thing.

    Anyway, I gave myself a kick and a reminder about my goal, which is to get into my dress by the 27th October, and I'm happy to say I'm now 17 lbs down, so on my way to a stone and half! I'm 7 lbs away from the next stone down which was my aim, so please remind me I can do it!

    Thanks Karion .. I've just got home from a visit to Mum and resisted the home-made biscuits she took out of the oven and plonked under my nose! She didn't know I was back on the diet, so made them specially for me, bless.

    But I resisted .. not that I was tempted really! Thing is, it's never one biscuit is it? Better to steer clear totally than start the negative thinking that it's done for today - start again tomorrow kinda thing :eek:

    We've all been there, done that. I've a dress to get into lol ;)

    Really into the swing of things at the moment. I'm down another 2 lbs which takes me to 19 in total (this time round lol) and I'm only 5 lbs away from the next stone down .. woohoo!

    With some pull-in pants, I might get into that dress yet!! :D

    wow 19lbs good for you, keep on doing what your'd doing, and you'll def be back in that dress :)

    I've been messing about as well, (nothing unusual about that:eek: ) day 2 today, and going ok at the mo :p

    Aww thanks Geri .. lovely to hear from you too :)

    I'm busy doing the housework at the moment .. just taking a breather for 5 and glugging some water. Boy it's hot work! Still, it's one way of getting some exercise ;)

    I've got a family meal to go to on Sunday, my Uncle's 80th Birthday dinner next Wednesday and a company meal out on the 19th - all before *the* do on the 27th! Somehow I'm going to have to stay strong and keep to meat & veg .. Mr Mandana will be very upset if I don't eat (especially on the 19th as it's his 30th Anniversary Celebration at work), and life does go on as they say.

    Anyway, must get as much off before then and in-between. Isn't life all about compromising?!

    Back to the housework :rolleyes:

    Oh well, the family meal turned out to be a bit of a binge :eek:

    Found it really hard just sticking to the meat & veg I'd planned to have when there were so many other goodies to be tempted with, and found myself clearing up in the kitchen polishing off yorkshire puddings!

    Only way forward is to put it behind me, that was yesterday and today is another day.

    Tried the dress on on Saturday and it does up, but is too tight still, so have a way to go. At least it does up now though!

    So after a good week, I've managed to put on 3 lbs in one day .. hey ho!

    Back to the grindstone! :rolleyes:

    Aww thanks for replying Flirty40 :)

    Guess there is something in the air .. had quite a family packed weekend and it was very emotionally draining in one way or another.

    Doesn't help that I'm working from home today, so have time on my hands to brood.

    Guess throwing the vacuum around will help! Need warming up and keeping away from the cake that is residing in the fridge ready for people coming round at 4 pm! Will have to get them to take it with them when they leave, or throw it out for the birds afterwards to save me getting to it! What's the betting it won't get that far?!

    NO! don't even be tempted!!! Cake is bad!!! :eek:

    I'm also brooding on troubles at the weekend .... but determined to stick to day 1 .... helps reading and posting and want to be back to my usual smiley :) happy :p flirty ;) self by the time my partner walks through the door tonight!
    Hope you soon feel better - and if you feel like vaccuuming ... I'll give you directions to my lounge! :D

    Okay, so you had a bit of over indulgence yesterday and today you are taking your control back again.

    I don't think it is about being a Saint all he time...we are allowed to be a little devil from time to time otherwise it will set you up for an ever bigger fall if we think this is it:rolleyes:

    A good diet is all about learning how to balance...your back now today and perhaps the next time you tip over into excess you might think more clearly if this is really what you want...it is all about learning.

    Just like old habits took a long time to form and break it also take new habits a long time to get ingrained into our mind set...

    On the balance, you have tipped back in the right direction again.

    Thanks girls .. it does help to get things off your chest sometimes.

    It's not the food or eating that's put me where I am today mood-wise - it's family stuff that rears it's head from time to time, and seeing/hearing some things yesterday just got old emotions back I guess. One of my brothers is just like our Dad, and it was quite a shock to see him (last time I saw him was at Christmas). We've all inherited part of Dad, my brother more so because he's male, so not only does he talk and act like him, he looks like Dad too. Makes me realise I'm so glad I found counselling as out of all of us, perhaps I'm the one who has 'escaped' the worst?

    Probably doesn't make sense at all without going into the family history, but suffice to say it was upsetting.

    I don't get TOTM anymore, but I've got the aches IYKWIM, so perhaps that doesn't help lift my mood?

    How the hell am I going to step away from the cake later? Anyone close by who will come and rescue me?!

    Hey Mandana

    So you had a binge yesterday and put three pounds on... You know this isn't 3lbs of fat but only glycogen stores and IF you SS today, it'll be gone by tomorrow!!

    DO NOT eat the cake - it's not worth it and you are jeopardising your dress looking amazing on you for the 27th - keep that goal in site - eating the cake will take minutes but the feeling of self disgust afterwards will last for days!! It ain't worth it and you soooo know that!!

    Chuck the cake in the bin now if you can't cope, i'm sure your guests are not expecting it... You are more important!!

    Stick with it, you're doing great!
