Karens WW Diary

What a shame you are not feeling too good, hope you are on the mend soon, good luck for your WI tonight, sure you'll have done well!

You've probably mentioned already but what are you studying at uni? I finished a part time post grad last year and I was soooo glad to see the back of it, I do not miss studying one bit! (sorry to rub it in!!) x

Hi CC... you jammy so and so :p Im studying youth and community work and loving every minute :D. Which post grad course did you do? If i manage to get through this degree without completely melting down, I would like to do a masters but thanks to David Cameron, I think they may cost about £12 million by the time i get the chance!

My tummy is cramping really bad and i feel awful (i managed 600 words in 5 hours lol) but i made it to weigh-in and lost a fabby 3.5lbs WOOHOOO!

well done karen, that's great x

Thanks Smirnoff. Well done on your 1lb xx

Well done on loss!! After doing my teaching post grad, I decided to do a post grad in educational support, work with kids with additional support needs. Plan was also do go on and do masters and become a chartered teacher but also thanks to David Cameron they are scrapping it altogether!! Joke!

Do you have long to go till your finished? X

We have sooo much to thank him for, eh? Im only just finishing my first year. I have found it quite heavy-going so am a little scared of the next 2 yrs . Somehow it'll all get done...(my motto recently!) Have to say, teaching courses are wayyy harder than what Im doing so, much respect to ya! xx

Im in a great mood after a good result on the scales. I didnt realise how much that STS had cheesed me off last week! I feel much better now. Not in my tummy though... I still have had cramps and sickness  Worse still, I have a few important meetings this afternoon and i work tonight. I cant really shift anything around as theres no spare time for any of it in the next couple of weeks AGHHH!! Im looking forward to my summer of doing nothing but a few hours work and time with the kids... it feels so far away! I finish on the 20th though... and it'll be a nice finish as its my 7th wedding anniversary on the 22nd. I'll be able to relax and enjoy that as my summer starting point :D

I got a monthly pass lastnight so I was able to play with esource for an hour or so. It looks great and will make my life easier I think.

It may be unwise but im going to eat a little today. I will abandon this idea if my tum gets bad again!

Hi Karen

Have been reading your diary and I am thinking wow this woman is super woman !! . 3 kids , a hubbie to look after AND doing a third level course . well done you . I have recently rejoined (last tuesday) and getting to grip with propoints . Your diary has been a great help . I am 46 have 2 teenagers and hubbie and am a home carer (Have 17 yr old girl with autism) . keep up the good work.

I completely agree that you are like superwoman! Juggling all those things, I only had myself to contend to when I was studying...that was challenging enough ha!

Hope you've managed to hold down your food okay today and your tummy is much better!! x

heya MW & CC,

thanks for the lovely comments but i fear i have misled you... My house always looks like a crime scene and my husband is left to fend for himself lol. Im really really lucky as I live in the same road as my university and my parents/hubby are heavily involved with the childcare. hubby works flexi-time and so life is made much easier. MW, I see you have just restarted... are you going to do a diary? would be nice to have another one to stalk. good luck with this week, i hope i can get to read about your progress :D xxx

Work was great... we took a bunch of lads to a local park to play footie and have a BBQ. I love my job :D I didnt have any of the BBQ food though. i wasnt being good on purpose, i was just scared of being ill in front of them! I still feel pretty rough but its managable. No matter what happens, tomorrow I will be at the library for the entire time between school drop off/pick up. I have an essay to hand in on Tuesday and 2 to hand in on Thursday. I'll take a packed lunch with me (to keep me away from the AMAZING coleslaw in the uni canteen) and hopefully i will be way too busy to misbehave :D

Hi karen . will def start a diary after my first weigh in . still getting used of pro points. still got the feeling that I am eating a lot of food .will be interested to see how week one goes . Am happy to be back on track though .

Not to worry, it will definitely work. I eat loads and the weight is coming off :D sometimes im eating 2 bags of crisps and a dessert as well as my 3 hearty meals. ProPoints is amazing! I also have just started using esource and it is absolutely brilliant for tracking and info/recipes. I hope you have a cracking week and i look forward to your diary :)

I am getting ready to head off to the library. My brilliant hubby has walked the kids to school so I can just see to myself. Ive done a packed lunch so I shouldnt fall prey to the uni canteen and the lure of the most amazing coleslaw ever created. Ive considered asking for the recipe or supplier... its THAT good! Ive actually made some cous cous and cooked some bbq chicken, chooped some fruit and a bunch of salad. That should keep me going! Someone has nabbed my last 2 packets of sunbites but i guess that saves me hawking them at a costly 7 PPs for the pair lol. i knew it was a mistake to let the kids try them but prehaps it does me a favour :) Right! Im off for a quick shower before I head out! Have a fantastic day guys xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for support Karen. I cant get used of free fruit and so many points. A friend of mine said most ot the points(of foods on discovery plan) had doubled in to pro points so you are still . only eating same amount but it feels like more . !! dont know anyway . will see how I go on tuesday next. love your food for today you are so organised . still think you are super woman. !!!

I think your friend is right. from what ive read on here the PPs have increased but some have stayed quite low (depending on what they are) so I think you still get to eat more than you used to without eating too much. it definitely doesnt feel like a diet which is the main thing!

I am halfway through my essay which is great but I was hoping to finish it today in order to start other ones over the weekend. It wasnt to be! So... i peeled myself away from the library in time to grab the kids and feel a little ticked off that I am behind. The other students get to do their work over the Easter break but thats harder for me as i have all the kids home AND work. So Im playing catch-up and not managing it quite as well as i would like LOL. Despite being behind, im thinking I deserve a drinkies tonight :D My mum is coming over for dinner so I may have a couple of glasses of something nice with her. My dad is working in London at the moment so she is on her own but me and my sister are keeping her out of mischief (BARELY!)

So aside from panicking about essays and mopping up after the kids, I have been thinking about whisking hubby away overnight to celebrate our wedding anniversary on 22nd May. Its a Sunday so Im aware he may have work on the Monday (if he doesnt book time off). My hubby LOVES Derren Brown so I have bought tickets to see his show 5 days after our anniversary as a gift but i reckon it would be nice to abandon the humdrum and have a romantic break on the actual day. Also, the traditional/modern suggestions for 7th Anniversaries is Wool or Copper. What on earth should i get for him?? A couple of months ago I made a reference about wanting copper bottom saucepans... I hope he doesnt remember that and buy me some. If he does, I will use them to batter him and it may spoil our special day :D Im going to have to give all of this some more thought!

I'm sure your house isn't like a crime scene one little bit!! You sound like you are very organised indeed, you'd need to be juggling all that!

I'm exactly like you in that I absolutely love my job! I really don't get that dreaded feeling about going in to work cos I enjoy it so much, couldn't ever imagine myself doing anything else! x

Getting to do what you really enjoy for a living is pretty amazing... and very lucky as not many people get to say the same. I like the nitty gritty end of youth work and hope to specialise in young womens work or what I do at the moment... refugee related work. I may change my mind a few times inbetween now and then though!

Bit of a rubbish end to our day. We have had a looong evening in A&E thanks to some 16 yr old punching my 13 yr old son so hard in the head that he lost hearing and has a bruised and lumpy head. I am not amused! Hes going to be fine though. We sat up there for 4 hours so I was brooding about it all that time. I am pretty protective of my kids... embarressingly so (according to my children) but I cant help that. I feel that way about all young people who are wronged in some way (hence the job) so of course that would be 1000000 fold with my own babies. I am really tightly wound now... not to mention exhausted. Thought i'd pop on here and get it off my chest. Despite it being passed midnight, I came home, settled my son to bed and poured myself a glass of Amaretto. First time ive tried it and i love it. I bought it tonight as i read a thread on here about how it tastes like almonds or marzipan. I am a huge tia maria fan so was eager to try another sweet liquer. I have to say, its well worth 2 points of anyones dailies  hopefully it will cool me down enough to fall asleep. Will resist a 2nd/3rd/4th glass :) xxxx

Hi Karen

How horrible for your son!! I bet you felt sick to your stomach, what a horrible thing to happen to him. I hope he's on the mend!

Glad you enjoyed your ameretto. I'm not a fan myself..don't really like marzipan. I tell you what drink I am loving these days tho..tia maria and cranberry juice, oh goodness it's delicious, it's like a black forest gateau!! Yum!

Food for today looks good keep up the good work x

Karen, so sorry to hear about your son . I have a 15 year old boy myself so I know how you feel I think I would be fit to kill if anyone hurt him. hope his hearing is back . You are quiet entitled to be furious . Hope the other guy suffered some consequences . .

Hi ladies, thanks for commenting. My sons hearing is getting better and the bruising/lump wont take long to go. They are hidden by his hair so he doesnt have to worry about it being seen. The doctor was sure his hearing would be fine in the next day or so and that seems to be the case so far. I did call the police and whether we press charges or not, I will make sure there are consequences. this happened to my 10 ur old daughter at the same park a few weeks back and I fully involved the police on that occassion as well. Our area is ok but it borders a pretty rough area. The park is between both areas so you get a mix of elements and influences :( I find it hard to stop them from playing at the park as it is brand new and a place where they have a good time with all their friends. If I ban them, they wont have anyone to play with because its the new hot-spot for everyone they usually play with in this street. So... we are discussing moving sooner than we intended. We were hoping to wait a year so that I would be closer to a higher income (thanks to degree qualification) but we have agreed to look sooner. The kids dont want to move as they go to brand new super-schools but the school is full of rough morons and they arent even safe at the park! We're going to have to pull rank on this one!

In other news, today I finished my essay for Tuesday... just 3 more pieces of work (total of 2500 words) for Friday to sort out this coming week. I still have 5000 words to write for the following week as well as 24 weeks of journals to present BUT i will worry about that later! I feel like im getting somewhere now though... the essay I just finished was REALLY stressing me out. It was all about policies of all kinds and I HATE that stuff. The other work will be much easier in comparison. PHEW! To celebrate, I have worked my way through 100ml of amaretto with diet coke... it was heavenly. Im a real tia maria girl but have never tried it with cranberry juice so I will take that as my next taster, CC. Gawd... im so easily influenced lol.

I have been missing out on all the fun today as the family went to the cinema and to a family ball-pool without me. my hubby is great for supporting my studies and I was glad he got them out of the house so i could study. they are off out again in the morning so i will get a few more hours. The only thing keeping me going at the moment is the knowledge that there is only 12 more days of this pressure and then I can party for 5 months haha.

Dietwise... I have been experimenting this week. As a newbie to WW Im not sure what works for me yet so this week I have been using all of my dailies and some of my weeklies all spread out equally. I decided i wont use all 49 but i will use about 30-35 of them. if i still lose weight then i will be really really pleased. I have been reluctant to use the weeklies so this is me dipping my toe in order to prove its ok to use them! I have been very precise on measuring and weighing so it should be a true reflection of my work.

Now, I am going to take my mellowed butt over to the sofa, watch 'law and order' then crawl up to bed. I really needed those couple of drinks :)

Ive got the raving hump now! I know i shouldnt but I weighed myself this morning and I am 1lb heavier. HOW??? I know im overeating at times and eating a load of crap at other times but i am staying well within my allowance. GAHHHHHHHHH! Im 3 days from weigh-in and there better be good flipping results or I'll... cry :sigh:

Ive done a bit more work and now Im going to have some lunch and watch Robin Hood. Lots of laundry and housework to do too. Oh the joys!!
