Katie-x's Ketosis Journey....

Katie we are all here for you so don't beat yourself up about it. Everyone of us has to learn how to control our eating, that's why support from others is so important. Look how far you have come so far & how you have managed not to put it all back on. That is a triumph in itself.

The important thing is that you have acknowledged where problems may arise in the future, the next step is putting strategies in place to reduce those problems. One step at a time will get us all there Katie so as Yoyo says its going to be a matter of trial & error until we get it right. I've already decided that once I'm at target I will have to weigh daily as I know if I don't I will bury my head in the sand & go back to my old eating habits.

Remember once you are at goal you will be able to concentrate on maintaining which will be entirely different to what you are experiencing at the moment while you still have a way to go loss wise. xx

Hi Katie, sorry you're feeling a bit low at the moment. Thought it might help you to start thinking about this before you get to goal as a potential maintenance strategy. It was posted on my JUDDD diary by Ali (Weebuns), who has lost lots of weight through doing 4 UDs and 3 DDs.

I love fasting because it's got me out of the old way of thinking I had that if I overindulged or had a slip up that I may as well blow the whole week and start again the following Monday. With fasting I really do take it a day at a time and know that one or two high food days don't mean I've blown it and can be offset by a fast or two. It does alter your whole way of thinking in regard to weight loss. I am far less likely to binge now as I don't see it so much as being on or off plan...it's just a way of eating and it all balances out in the end.

Hi Katie.

I think you are already making some sensible choices. You had a bad week yet you came back here and you are planning your next couple of weeks. It was only a few days. In the past if I went off the rails I would carry on for a week, a month, a couple of years... I need to do exactly what you have done.

I am just back from 5 days camping. It was very hot so I found it easy to stay TS. My friends who drank alcohol really suffered and I liked that I wasn't hungry and had more energy. If I had chosen to eat then I'm sure I could have made some sensible choices and stuck to low carb meals...I'm a sucker for BBQ food! I'm so new into this that staying in ketosis is a massive motivator for me. But life and holidays are for living so if you choose to go off plan then its only a few days and you start again with no great damage done. You just have to come back!

You have done so well and you know it works. So if it takes a couple of weeks longer to get to goal so be it.

Jac xx

Welcome back Katie x Please don't be down on yourself, you have done so well on your weight loss and have come straight back which is the important thing. As some have already said; life is for living and enjoying and special times need to be embraced and celebrated. With your strength and motivation I'm sure you will soon be back in the zone. Hope you are having a good day and feeling brighter x

How was your day hon? X

Hi Katie, how are you feeling today, hun?

Had a good day today but not TS wise - had a pack before heading off to the gym to meet TH, we'd planned to meet for coffee before hitting the gym but she wasn't in any fit state for a work out as she had a banging headache and was looking pale - we had a drink and a good chat about diets and the pros and cons and she's now sensibly ps decided to give JUDD a try :)

After she'd made that decision I hit her with the killer question....'so are we going to the pub for tea?' Lol - thankfully she said yes and we both legged out of the gym (it had been bloody hard work picking that coffee cup up!!) and went and had a gorgeous but healthy two course meal :)

My heart just isn't in TS but I am looking forward to getting back on it on Monday, I really don't cope well with short stretches of it at all - so I'll eat sensibly tomorrow and on our camping trip - which I'm all even more excited about as we are now going to Norfolk (better weather forecast) so I'll get to see and spend time with my son and his wife -- extra happy days :D xx

LOL ;)

The size of some of those coffee cups it is like an upper body work out lifting them. Hope you enjoy your camping trip and then get back on to it on Monday with renewed vigour. x

Aww have a lovely time Katie - maybe Cate will be converting all of us to JUDD ;)

Go on.. What did you have for your tea?

Ill answer the tea one for you Yoyo...

Katie had a salad with beef to start, baked salmon fillet with prawns, new potatoes, broccoli, carrots, swede for main plus two diet cokes.

I had 2 orange n passion fruit J2Os because I had headache n didn't want caffeine. I wanted a soothing drink! To start I had Thai king prawns on a salad and same main as Katie but I had mash instead of new potatoes :) mines was only 850 cals including the dressings and drinks. I could nit eat after that so my 'up' day was pretty poor! Was delicious though X

Sounds yummy and very healthy too :)

Have a great time Katie. Hope the weather stays good for you all x

Didn't manage to get on here at all yesterday, was a crazy day! One son (the one who's America bound) passed his driving test (yippee :D), my daughter had a hospital appointment re needing a metal plate on her pelvis - the surgeon knew of only one other person who'd had this done and only two surgeons who specialise in this op so he's referring her to one of those, luckily it's in Wrightington which is only ten minutes from us and my other son did his first ever shift behind a bar as he's taken on an occasional second job helping in the pub - was a big day!

I was in meetings all day, came home and hubby was packing for the trip, Dan her hubby & little ones were here and the kids told me they wanted to go camping.....and now they are all coming ;) So today we are all heading for Norfolk, over the moon but the little ones don't really have a clue what camping is and I don't think Jack is going to be too happy when he realises there's no tv and Thomas the Tank Engine :)

I had to nip out with Dan and while I was out Kaits walked up to Ste and said "look grandad, look what I've wrote for nana" - poor grandad said he stood there laughing thinking 'thanks, what about me?' - she'd written this note on the back of a receipt

Hope you all have a great dieting weekend, I'll try and catch up as and when I get a minutes peace :) xxx

Now off upstairs to get my Enid Blyton Wishing Chair books for story time :D xx
